The Oasis 40M breaks the rules in the yachting world, while respecting the “Made in Italy” elegance and tradition evoked by the Benetti name. The yacht reveals the brand’s most glamorous side, while at the same time offering an adventurous response to a new concept of life on board. Created for clients with a dynamic and informal lifestyle, Oasis 40M is a chic oasis of wellness, offering an authentic and constant connection with the surrounding environment, combined with total independence.

Over 40 metres long and made from composite materials, the Oasis 40M is powered by two MAN V12 engines and extends across four decks, with five cabins for 10 guests and four cabins for seven crew members, including the comfortable captain’s cabin.

The exterior styling by well-known British superyacht design firm RWD is defined by an elegance that expresses a modern and highly distinctive style: a perfect combination of Italian refinement and classic British lines. One of the Oasis 40M’s characteristics is its ability to offer guests and the owner an experience in total symbiosis with nature. The interiors, created for relaxed and informal comfort and reminiscent of an elegant open space loft, are designed by New York firm Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, which is making its debut in the yachting world and has brought in new ideas and unprecedented design solutions. The interior settings are characterised by a chic and minimalist elegance, like many of the projects commissioned from the American firm, which has across-the-board experience in the world of architecture and design, from residential projects around the world for private clients, to Ian Schrager’s boutique hotels, to Tod’s stores, and the super modern Pace Gallery in New York City.

The exteriors: an adventurous look with a glamorous spirit
The upright bow, the vertical windscreen with full-height wheelhouse glazing, and the automotive inspired style accents, such as the silver accent around the perimeter of the windows architecture, are all elements proposed by RWD to give the Oasis 40M the look of dynamic yacht that can take her owner and guests on adventures. At the same time, the yacht reveals her glamorous side with big outdoor spaces for socialising, parties and open-air living. It is no coincidence that the beach area next to the water is the most innovative feature on the yacht, offering as much space as you would ordinarily find on a 60M. This entire outdoor terrace has a unique layout because of the total absence of physical and visual barriers: from the main lounge over to the steps leading down into the water, the flow is unbroken and the view of the horizon unimpeded. Designed as a multifunctional space, the beach area is somewhere to have fun and play games during the day, before being transformed into a sophisticated lounge for more formal occasions at sunset or later in the evening.

With the two side wings open, increasing the total usable surface of the beach area to 90 square metres, the width of this space reaches 11 metres, or much more than the hull’s 8.5-metre beam. Entering the water is made easy by a big central transformer that can be lowered into the water to a depth of one metre, and raised to provide a wider and more convenient way to board and leave the yacht. The logic behind this technological solution is to encourage the recreational use of the beach area, which in this way lends itself to preparations for diving excursions, making it easier for divers to enter the water with their gear, or to board tenders or jet skis, which can make temporary use of the structure.
Just steps from the sea, the real focus of this area is the infinity pool, which is a rarity on yachts this size. Offering over seven square metres of surface area and 5,500 litres of water, it is fitted with a heater and a hydromassage function. The freshwater in the pool is managed using its own separate tank and, is regularly collected, filtered and returned to the system to avoid waste. A central sunbathing island dominates the area, together with a C-shaped sofa and a coffee table, while on the right hand side of the platform, a big hatch in the deck provides access to a toy room where smaller water toys can be stored. On each side, three steps lead up to the main lounge, the highest point in the entire Beach Area and accessible through a big curved sliding door that makes for seamless continuity between exterior and interior. With this arrangement, there are no visual impediments blocking the view of the sea. To offer an even greater sense of freedom, the beach area has no stairway to the upper decks, which are accessed from the side walkways or from inside the yacht.

The garage, which is on the starboard side (so it doesn’t interfere with the beach area), can contain a tender up to 6.3 metres long, while the jet ski is stored in a garage in the bow.

There is this same level of interior-exterior continuity between the skylounge and the forward terrace on the Upper Deck, where a sophisticated lounge area with sofas and armchairs is ideal for relaxing in complete privacy.

A secluded lateral stairway amidships provides access to the Sun Deck. This 90-square-metre area is dominated by a big rectangular table seating 12, with a second circular Jacuzzi in the bow and an infinity bar with four seats in the stern, from where there is an excellent view of the terraces on the decks below and the ship’s wake while cruising.

The interiors: chic comfort and informal elegance
An organic design with minimalist detailing, muted colours and materials like Calacatta or Vagli marble, teak, rosewood and white lacquer are some of the elements chosen by Bonetti/Kozerski to give the settings continuity, making sure the spaces are bright and reflect light from outside into the interior. Everything is designed to be flowing and linear, like a musical symphony acting as the soundtrack for guests on the Oasis 40M.

Big glazed surfaces and glass doors help blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, a choice the designers wanted to emphasise by bringing the materials and colours used on the exterior decks into the interior settings too. This makes the spaces on the lower deck seem even more roomy, helped by the numerous reflective surfaces.

The main lounge has teak flooring, like the entire Main Deck, with the boards arranged from right to left, and two white and grey sofas for guests arranged in an arc. To meet the owners’ needs, Benetti has designed various alternative layouts for this area. The first unit has a lounge and a dining area, with the addition behind the forward wall of an elegant and sophisticated bar cabinet which opens like a chest to reveal a highly evocative backlit onyx panel. The Shipyard also offers a solution in which the dining area is replaced by a large American bar, transforming the entire lounge area into an indoor-outdoor veranda for socializing and parties.

On the port side of the ship, a door provides access to a big galley with a central island. From here the crew can enter their own quarters in the bow on the Lower Deck or use a separate route and a private stairway to go to the upper decks. The master suite can be reached from the aft starboard side of the main lounge, through the main lobby and a multi-purpose space that can be used as a gym, an additional guest cabin or a private office, as desired by the owner. The master suite is an elegant space where luxury is expressed by the discreet sophistication of the detailing and the variety of patterns featured in the fabrics and leather cladding of the bed headboard and walls. The full-beam cabin has a lounge area on the right-hand side and a night area on the left. The bed faces aft and the large full-height windows on both sides make natural light a feature of the interior design. A central corridor leads further forward to the dressing room and bathroom, both divided into his and hers areas.

A futuristic wheelhouse steals the show on the Upper Deck in another innovative feature of the Oasis 40M. No longer a service or technical area reserved for the captain and crew, the bridge is designed as a functional space in which to enjoy the cruising experience from new perspectives, thanks to inspired design of 180 degree, full-height windows and comfortable seating for six people in a highly innovative setting. The helm station and classic ship’s wheel are replaced by a light bridge console with a futuristic design developed by Benetti and Seastema. Made from carbon fibre to have a slim and lightweight but incredibly strong structure, it boasts a very high level of software integration based on military technology, with ceiling-mounted screens and an ergonomic captain’s chair by Besenzoni. All the controls are arranged on two small peninsula-shaped panels like extra armrests. The racks for the navigation equipment are installed in an air-conditioned compartment behind the wheelhouse, in the corridor on the starboard side, cleverly concealed by easy to open panels.

The skylounge has a cinema space with a lounge and a second more informal dining area.

Performance, navigation and high build quality
With excellent hull efficiency helped by the vertical bow, Oasis 40M has a top speed of 18 knots. At a slow cruising speed of 11 knots, fuel consumption is just over 100 l/h and the yacht has more than enough range to complete a transatlantic crossing. The boat is built according to the highest technical and construction standards on the market, the result of an all-embracing approach to design that Benetti has recently given the name “OBIETTIVO 50”. The reason for this is to ensure that customers have a highly reliable product that is designed to meet the real needs of life on board and maintains its beauty with passing time. For this reason, the greatest care is lavished on every detail, drawing on cutting edge design and construction technology.

The FSC-certified teak procured for Oasis 40M is extra thick to make sure that the finished thickness at the time of delivery is no less than 12 mm. In the beach area in particular, Benetti’s grain alignment expertise is on full view. The curved parts are made by overlaying 120 very thin teak sheets and hot pressing them for an extended period of time to achieve maximum durability combined with visual perfection. All the steel used is hand polished in at least seven different steps to obtain 95 gloss surfaces that are smooth and appealing to touch, and most importantly that can’t be attacked by rust and salt spray.

The gangway, transformer and electro-hydraulic mechanisms are custom designed for the boat by top suppliers who work with exacting interface specifications to guarantee maximum reliability and durability.

The standard model of the boat is painted white to maintain the level of gloss over time. In the layers beneath, the entire structure and not only the skin coat on the hull is laminated using exclusively vinyl ester resin, which guarantees excellent mechanical strength and osmosis resistance. Various parts are also made from carbon fiber for strength and light weight, as well as improving the boat’s stability: from the wings that open out on either side of the stern pool club, to the rollbar and radar support structure.

To achieve the stringent noise and vibration reduction levels Benetti imposes on itself, both shafts have an elastic coupling with thrust bearings.

When underway, on reaching a speed of 7-8 knots, an electric valve sends the exhaust fumes from the main engines under the water line, preventing them and noise from rising to the aft terrace.

Care over air quality in terms of oxygenation, humidity and temperature is also a feature of the interior closed spaces, where a treatment system ensures that the air is always fresh and clean, with up to six changes per hour.
