Azimut/Benetti accelerates in Tuscany: €100 million in new investments to strengthen its leadership in the superyacht sector
Azimut/Benetti Group continues its growth trajectory, looking to the future by investing in the Tuscan district and further strengthening it as the strategic hub of its superyacht business. Over the past five years, the company has achieved remarkable industrial growth, doubling the value of its production from €758 million in 2020 to €1.56 billion in 2025, representing an increase of 100%. This significant expansion has been driven not only by growth in international markets, but also by a major internal development process. The Group has invested in strengthening technical expertise, manufacturing capabilities and advanced engineering able to anticipate industry standards, transforming innovation and know-how into distinctive elements of its competitiveness.
Tuscany represents the heart of luxury yacht building. With 14 production sites located across Viareggio, Livorno, Massa and Pisa, the region alone accounts for 70% of the Azimut/Benetti Group’s global results, confirming its position as one of the world’s leading districts for the construction of high-end yachts and the cornerstone of the brand’s growth strategy.
To support this continued expansion, the brand has defined a new strategic investment plan. Following the €77 million already invested in Tuscany over the last three years, the Group has allocated a further €100 million for the 2026-2028 period in the region. The programme is designed to increase production capacity, improve the safety and efficiency of its facilities, and further strengthen the technological and industrial assets that define the brand. Planned initiatives include the expansion and upgrading of production sites, energy efficiency projects through sustainable solutions and photovoltaic systems, and new investments in the development of models, materials and technologies alongside the refit activities carried out by Lusben.
Industrial growth has been closely matched by the development of human capital. Between 2020 and 2026, the Group’s workforce in Tuscany nearly doubled, with particular attention devoted to developing new skills. Through the ISYL – Italian Superyacht Life Foundation, of which Azimut/Benetti is a founding member, the Group actively supports the training of specialised professionals for the yachting industry while passing on its expertise, consolidating a model of collaboration between education and industry that has become a benchmark for the Italian yachting sector.
The announced investments therefore confirm the Group’s long-term vision of continuing to build some of the world’s most advanced and prestigious yachts.
