Over 20 brands, members of NAUTICA ITALIANA, will be presenting their new products from 1 to 5 November at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the reference event for the world’s leading yachting market, whose volume – according to the latest data published by NMMA – is expected to grow by more than 6%.

“Medium and large yachts, top-of-the-range inflatable boats, world-class sailing boats and top-quality accessories - these are the sectors in which Italian Style is a leader on the US yachting market, confirming the key role that Italy’s boating industry plays on the other side of the Atlantic.” – declared Lamberto Tacoli, President of NAUTICA ITALIANA –. “If only inboard motor boats are taken into consideration, in July 2017 the US market recorded a 10.3% increase against the same period in 2016. And it is just in the segment of large yachts – over 80 feet in length – that Made in Italy production achieves truly outstanding results.”

Indeed, based on the evidence produced by the Market Monitor conceived by Deloitte for Nautica Italiana and Altagamma and presented during the Monaco Yacht Show 2017, Italy – with a € 2 billion boat production in 2016 – confirms to be the leading boat manufacturer in Europe and the second worldwide after the United States, to which more than 20% of the boats and components produced in Italy is exported. The Market Monitor also reasserted Italy’s global leadership in the large yachts segment, with a 2017 order portfolio share of 49%.

“Following the European boat shows season, which was characterized by great liveliness, in terms of both contacts and sales – continued Lamberto Tacoli –, we are now eagerly looking ahead at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. The US market is witnessing an encouraging growth, also in the medium and large boats segments. This further spurs our companies to keep investing in increasingly innovative models, capable of combining technology, Italian design, comfort and versatility – all features that are largely appreciated by overseas customers”.

With its current 97 members, NAUTICA ITALIANA represents a large number of businesses that have long been world leaders in the construction of large yachts, in the refit & repair sector, in the inflatable boats segment, and in high-end accessories. Among them, more than 20 member companies will be taking part in the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show with their brands (directly or through dealers) and present new models and products.

Eleven Italian brands, manufacturers of pleasure boats and vessels, are part of Azimut Benetti, Baglietto, Ferretti Group, and Perini Navi. In particular, Azimut Yachts will display a fleet of 18 models, including the new S7 as a première for the US market; Benetti will showcase the Benetti M/Y Skyler (38 m), also as an American première and the third unit in the range Benetti Fast 125’, together with the Mediterraneo 116’ M/Y OLI (35.5 m); Baglietto is also confirming its presence in Fort Lauderdale, where the Sestante project, a 70 m mega-yacht in the Baglietto T-Line, was initially conceived, in cooperation with the international design firm Mulder Design, and where the Gavio Group recently opened a permanent office at The Quay; the Ferretti Group will be displaying 18 models between 10 and 28 meters in length, with two absolute premières for the American market: the new flybridge Ferretti Yachts 780 and the 76’ Bahamas, the second convertible yacht under the Riva brand; Perini Navi, in turn, will be present with its new range of products – sailing boats from 42 to 72 m and power boats between 50 and 92 m.

Seven Italian brands in the boating accessories and components will introduce the US market to what’s new in their sector in terms of Made-in-Italy technology, functionality and innovation: Guidi Marine, Italwinch, Mase Generators, with the new IS 5.6 60 Hz single-phase genset, with voltage 120/240V and maximum power 5.6 Kw, Naval Tecno Sud, Opacmare – who will present a two-arm tender lift, a 4-wing straight manual door, and the manually-operated aft door -, and Veco, with the latest onboard refrigeration solutions by Frigoboat and onboard air conditioning systems Climma. All Services, Furuno and Telemar will take part in the FLIBS 2017 to propose their exclusive services in the yachting sector.
