A new Zeelander 8 has been delivered, marking the latest example of the Dutch yard’s 24-metre (79ft) flagship.

Built in limited numbers at Zeelander’s facility in the Netherlands, the Zeelander 8 occupies a unique position in its segment. It combines the speed of a true fast-cruising yacht with generous accommodation, an unmistakable sculpted design and an exceptional standard of craftsmanship throughout.

The result is a yacht that delivers both exhilarating performance and refined comfort, finished to a standard that exceeds that of any yacht in this size category and surpasses the capabilities of most superyacht builders.

Bespoke without limits

Every Zeelander 8 is individually configured, and the new yacht illustrates the full breadth of the possible. A defining characteristic is the main galley layout, which has been entirely reimagined around a central island that functions as both breakfast bar and social hub. At the helm station, more generous seating creates a comfortable place to accompany the captain while under way. And a dedicated bar with L-shaped seating creates the space for a larger lounge area.

The interior follows a carefully composed palette of materials. Gloss teak flooring is paired with leather accents, while gold-tone finishes appear throughout the yacht, from taps and fittings to exterior detailing and even the yacht’s waterline. Together they form a cohesive design language that flows seamlessly between interior and exterior spaces.

The striking result is a testament to Zeelander’s philosophy of bespoke construction: structural changes, unique layouts and highly individualised detailing that runs down to the smallest element.

Designed for life on the water

This Zeelander 8 has been laid out to support an active lifestyle at sea. Large storage areas allow the yacht to carry a wide array of watersports equipment, including dive tanks, Seabobs, kitesurfing gear and flyboards. A Williams 435 jet tender provides fast and comfortable access to shore and surrounding anchorages.

The yacht is also designed to be operated by the owner. Its accommodation for up to three crew members can therefore be used as additional guest space, allowing up to nine guests to be comfortably berthed on board.

Performance with remarkable quietness

The Zeelander 8 combines superyacht-level craftsmanship with exceptional performance.

The yacht can be equipped with up to four Volvo Penta IPS-1350 engines, delivering speeds of up to 40 knots. With this configuration, the Zeelander 8 can cruise comfortably at 32 knots with a range of approximately 630 nautical miles.

Slow the pace to 7 knots, and the range extends to a remarkable 2,700 nautical miles, enabling long passages with ease. The IPS propulsion system also enables precise joystick docking, making manoeuvring straightforward for owner-operators.

Equally notable is the yacht’s silence under way. Zeelander has developed a series of patent-pending technologies that significantly reduce vibration and sound transmission throughout the hull. On this particular yacht, sound levels average just 65 decibels at full speed, comparable to normal conversation.

Built for longevity and timelessness

Zeelander’s engineering philosophy prioritises longevity as much as beauty. Exterior wood accents are recreated on glassfibre using a specialised painted wood-grain technique applied by a dedicated artisan. The result replicates the appearance of traditional varnished wood while eliminating the maintenance typically associated with it. These surfaces are protected by a self-healing film coating.

Synthetic teak decking further reduces upkeep while maintaining the classic aesthetic expected of a yacht in this category. Together, these solutions contribute to a yacht designed not only to perform beautifully today, but to retain its elegance and timeless appeal for decades to come.

The Zeelander philosophy

For Zeelander Chairman Sietse Koopmans, the yacht reflects the core philosophy of the shipyard. “Every Zeelander is built around its client’s vision. Some bring bold ideas, others subtle refinements, but the goal is always the same: uncompromising craftsmanship and a yacht that feels entirely personal.”

Fully built in the Netherlands and produced in very limited numbers, the Zeelander 8 represents the most refined expression of the yard’s design, engineering and bespoke approach.
