Sailing yacht Alvorada, OCD60 delivered by KM Yachtbuilders

KM Yachtbuilders in Makkum delivered the ‘Alvorada’, a 60-foot aluminium sailing yacht, designed by Owen Clarke Design (OCD). The OCD60 was built for sailors who are looking to make long voyages with plenty of comfort on board.

‘Alvorada’ is a practical and sophisticated yacht. It has been designed for a crew of two, with comfortable accommodation for a maximum of six guests. All the systems and the layout have been designed with a long-term stay on board in mind: efficient, easy to reach, and made for intensive use. The aluminium hull and the lifting keel produce a great sailing range and flexibility: deep and quick on open water, with the option of less draught for cruising in shallow waters.

With its design, the ‘Alvorada’ continues the line of ‘Qilak’, the 66-foot expedition vessel that was also designed by Owen Clarke Design and built by KM Yachtbuilders in 2018. Where ‘Qilak’ has a proven track record in the far north, ‘Alvorada’ will set sail for more southern waters.

As a specialist in aluminium yachts, KM Yachtbuilders completed this project fully in-house: from engineering and hull to finishing and sea trials.
