Sofía strengthens its logistics with the addition of Azulmarino
Mallorca-based Azulmarino joins the group of main partners of the 55th Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca Mallorca by FERGUS Hotels. Its addition strengthens the logistics of an event in which more than a thousand sailors from fifty different countries compete.
Logistics is one of the biggest challenges faced each year by the Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by FERGUS Hotels. In an event that in 2025 attracted more than 2,000 people, including more than a thousand sailors from 54 countries, having a good hotel and travel management service is crucial to its success. To cover this aspect with every guarantee, the Sofía has signed a collaboration agreement with Azulmarino, the travel agency brand of World2Meet (W2M), the travel division of Grupo Iberostar.
A delegation from the Sofía met with representatives from Azulmarino at ITB Berlin, the world's largest tourism fair. Mark Nueschen, Managing Director of Bed Bank at W2M, explained that support for the event comes naturally: "The Sofía is based in Mallorca, which is our home. It is an event that helps put Mallorca on the map, and in which Mallorcan companies closely associated with us participate, such as FERGUS, with whom we have a very strong link. Supporting the Sofía is a good way to promote the sport and promote Mallorca".
According to Cati Darder, president of the Federación Balear de Vela (FBV, Balearic Sailing Federation) and the Bahía Activa Foundation, the event's organiser: "Adding a Mallorcan company of Azulmarino's calibre to the group of Sofía's main partners is excellent news. It demonstrates the sense of belonging among the Balearic community, which is a source of great satisfaction for all of us working on the event. In this case, it also guarantees that we will have a top-level service so that the regatta can continue to grow on its path to excellence."
With 45 years of experience in the sector and a network of more than 160 points of sale, Azulmarino will be responsible for managing the transfers and accommodation of guests and all members of the Sofía organisation arriving from outside the island. This collaboration reinforces the Mallorcan firm's commitment to sailing, a discipline with which it shares values such as teamwork, self-improvement and respect for the environment.
In Nueschen's opinion, "the Sofía is a regatta that every child dreams of participating in. My children are sailors, and I know that athletes pay a lot of attention to the brands that support the sport. For us, it is a way of investing in the future, in people who are going to travel. We want today's young people to travel with us when they are successful tomorrow".
Azulmarino is one of the main sponsors of the 55th Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by FERGUS Hotels, alongside Trasmed, Marine Pool and tent Hotels.
The 55th Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by FERGUS Hotels is organised by Bahía Activa (the foundation formed by the Real Club Náutico de Palma, the Club Nàutic Arenal, the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa and the Balearic Sailing Federation) and is supported by World Sailing. The event is co-financed by the Balearic Islands Government's Sustainable Tourism Tax fund and sponsored by the Mallorca Responsible Tourism Foundation.
The event is part of the 2026 Sailing Grand Slam alongside the Semaine Olympique Française, Dutch Water Week, Kieler Woche and the Long Beach & San Pedro Olympic Classes Regatta.
