Heritage 36’ Bow Rider: Canados’ take on the power catamaran
The new Heritage 36’ Bow Rider, which will be showcased at the upcoming 65th Genoa International Boat Show, marks an important step for the Roman shipyard Canados. It inaugurates a new line of power catamarans that combine efficiency, stability, and the meticulous attention to detail typical of Made in Italy. This multihull embodies a modern interpretation of the daycruiser concept, with an emphasis on comfortable, safe, and efficient navigation.
The 36’ Bow Rider project is built around a twin-hull with a central tunnel, developed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimize hydrodynamic flow and ensure high efficiency. The construction uses fiberglass/polyester with infusion technology, keeping displacement to about 4,300 kg. According to Canados, this guarantees dry, stable navigation even in rough seas, while reducing fuel consumption and increasing onboard safety.

Thanks to this design, the catamaran reaches a top speed of 43 knots with two 250 hp Mercury engines, outperforming several competitors that require higher power to achieve similar results. Efficiency, according to the shipyard, translates into up to 30% lower fuel consumption compared to boats in the same category. Engine packages vary from the standard Mercury Verado 250 hp, to the Sport package with two Mercury Racing 300R engines, up to the Ultimate package dedicated to cruising comfort.
Systems and technical equipment
The electrical system runs at 24 volts throughout the yacht, a solution that improves efficiency, reduces weight, and simplifies management. Traditional panels are replaced with switches with integrated thermal fuses, improving reliability and ease of maintenance. Noteworthy is the 24V air-conditioning system which, without a generator, can operate for up to eight hours using only the onboard batteries.
Available options include a Mercury joystick, hydraulic bathing platform, sea access/boarding ladder, and a full electronics package with GPS, autopilot, VHF, and AIS, in addition to an underwater lighting system.

Habitability and versions
The interior layout includes one guest cabin and one bathroom, while the deck can accommodate up to 16 passengers. Interiors and fittings are customizable, with three main configurations:
Pure – focused on simplicity and ease of use.
Sport – equipped with Mercury Racing 300R engines, for those seeking higher performance.
Ultimate – featuring an enlarged hardtop, enhanced equipment, and cruise-oriented comfort.
The shipyard also offers tailor-made options to meet different owners’ requirements.
