Volvo Penta has announced the appointment of Hanna Ljungqvist as Head of Volvo Penta Marine Business and member of the Executive Group, effective October 1, 2025.

For Ljungqvist, this marks a return to the marine industry after more than a decade of experience at Volvo Penta and, most recently, serving as Vice President and Head of Volvo Trucks in India and Indonesia.

“I am very pleased to be returning to Volvo Penta. It is an honor to help lead the company into the future. Marine technology, along with our customers’ expectations, is evolving faster than ever – and so will we,” she said. “Volvo Penta will continue to set the benchmark for sustainability and innovation. I look forward to strengthening our collaborations with customers and partners, which are essential to delivering the world-leading solutions and services that define our brand.”

Ljungqvist holds a Master of Science in Industrial Design Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and joined the Volvo Group International Graduate Program in 2008. Within the Volvo Group, she has held several commercial and technical positions, particularly at Volvo Penta, where she was responsible for product and business development. As Vice President, Service Market Marine, she managed global marine parts and services, contributing to sales growth and enhancing aftersales support.

Volvo Penta President Anna Müller welcomed Ljungqvist back to the marine division:
“Hanna returns to Volvo Penta with a strong international background and deep knowledge of the marine industry. I am confident that her experience and leadership will make a decisive contribution to the company’s future success.”
