Second day for the 2024 ILCA 7 World Championship in the waters of Adelaide, Australia, with a very long day of racing characterized by little wind in the morning, in which one race was cancelled, and good wind in the afternoon in which the two races were held scheduled.

Norwegian sailor Hermann Tomasgaard maintained his lead by winning one race and finishing fifth in the second. For the Italians competing, this is the current ranking: Chiavarini 48th, Peroni 81st, Musone 82nd, Cassanmagnago 146th.

There are 153 athletes participating in the World Championship divided into three fleets. The program includes two qualifying tests per day and the final series until January 31st when the medal race will be held.

The voice of the protagonists:

Dimitri Peroni: “Today, we spent some time waiting for the races to start. After a first attempt, we returned due to the lack of wind, but fortunately, around 5pm, a pleasant breeze from the south allowed us to carry out two interesting tests, at least from a meteorological point of view. Unfortunately, I have to admit that I was not able to give my best, despite having strong wind conditions in the first two days, in which I usually feel comfortable.”

The Italians competing:

Valerio Cassanmagnago (Orza Minore Sailing School)

Lorenzo Chiavarini (Fiamme Oro State Police Sports Group)

Giacomo Musone (Navy Sports Group)

Dimitri Peroni (Vela GuardiadiFinanza Section)
