The fourth day of the 2024 ILCA 6 World Championship saw the athletes engaged in a very long day, with over six hours in the water to compete in the first two tests of the final stages.

The day's program was characterized by a prolonged wait in the water between the first and second races, with the wind from the north-west in the first race showing frequent variations and jumps, then moving from the south-west in the second race.

In the general classification, the Danish Rindom maintains the lead, distancing herself from the Norwegian Hoest and the Portuguese Karachaliou.

The performances of the Italian athletes were fair, with an improvement in the ranking positions: Zennaro twenty-first, Benini Floriani twenty-fourth, Albano twenty-sixth, Talluri forty-fourth and Della Valle forty-ninth.

Voice of the Protagonists:

Carolina Albano: “Today was quite a difficult day due to the continuous rotations of the wind. We were out about seven hours; in the first race I finished in eighteenth place due to an initial penalty at the start which penalized me a lot. However, I am quite satisfied with having recovered several positions. The second race was certainly more challenging due to the increasing wind and I finished in fifteenth position. Today was the first series of races in the Gold fleet.”

The Italians competing:

Chiara Benini Floriani (GdF)

Giorgia Della Valle (C. Vela Torbole)

Matilda Talluri (GdF)

Silvia Zennaro (GdF)

Sara Savelli (Yacht Club Cagliari)
