The M/Y “ITALIA” project by PC DESIGN has been shortlisted for the final of The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2018, in the Concept Under 50 Metres category. Hosted by leading interior design magazine design et al and leading yacht and aviation design magazine Luxe et al, The International Yacht & Aviation Awards, now in their 8th year, reward the best in design from across the globe.

Again an important goal for the designers Matteo Cappellazzo and Mattia Piro that in 2014 opened their design studio PC DESIGN, dedicated to luxury yachts and interior design but not only. The competition provides an online voting, accessible to everyone. Voting is open until the 16th May 2018 and every user must express his preference for each of the categories in competition (voting only one candidate in just one category is not possible) by the link:

Winners will be announced during the awarding ceremony on the 18th May 2018 at the Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Italy.
With its sleek and speedy design, the hyper yacht “ITALIA” ensures a fast cruising speed of 46 knots with an estimated top speed between 55 and 60 knots.

Lower deck accommodation is for just 4 guests and 2 crew, making life on board an exclusive experience, although there is plentiful deck space for hosting up to 16 guests.
Key features of the vessel include the gull wing doors that open up to reveal jet skis garages and the lower deck lounging area that features a superyacht spa pool, a cocktail bar and extensive seating space. Interior design is linear, elegant and light, with a choice of variable lighting schemes for on board volumes.

Power comes from a pair of 1925 hp Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines paired to Twin-Disc Arneson 14 surface drives: this powerful set-up is visible from the main deck thanks to inlaid glass in the teak decking.

“ITALIA” will cut quite an impressive figure out on the open water, with the surface drives kicking up an enormous wake; with a total fuel capacity of 6000 liters and a maximum cruising range of 425 nautical miles, it presents itself as the ideal vehicle for exploring the Italian coastline.

Matteo Cappellazzo, co-founder and chief designer of PC DESIGN, explains: «The International Yacht and Aviation Awards are a unique occasion for our company to stand out in the industry and they are an important and further step in our professional path. It’s about an interesting challenge and the awarding ceremony in a marvelous place such Venice increases their charm. Being shortlisted is already a great result but now we want to believe in victory.».

«With “ITALIA” we wanted to break with all that has been created in yachting in terms of design so far, moving towards new concepts, to come up with something which has never been seen but with a practical feedback, relevant to a project for a new yacht.» - Mattia Piro, co-founder and chief designer of PC DESIGN, continues - «We would like to thank anyone that is accompanying and helping us in our path and design et al and Luxe et al for this opportunity. Vote for us, thank you!».
