New Veratron Jumbo Display at Boot Düsseldorf

The VDO Marine color mast display belongs to the AcquaLink family and is a one of its kind unit for a totally new sailing experience. It can be controlled either via touch-screen or wired remote control. Three touch-buttons, imbedded into the display, can be programmed to show very quickly favorite information. Thanks to over 800 nits, the sun-view display can be perfectly read from a distance even in bright sunlight. The relevant information is shown clearly in any condition. The AcquaLink 7” is fully compatible with any system having NMEA 2000 Interface.

With the instrumentation needs of the most demanding crews plus contest racing in mind, we took the challenge to develop a completely new standard for a TFT display on the mast. The idea was to present a color display with first-in-class reliability and readability in any lighting condition. The stunning 7” inch touch-screen with unique functions, dedicated to race crews, sets the new benchmark today. A capacitive multitouch TFT bonded display with high outdoor visibility, three shortcut settable buttons on the touch screen and remotely controllable by a dedicated NavControl. An incredible unibody design of aluminum provides an ultrathin profile and sturdiness. The display was designed to outperform any existing product in terms of quality and longevity.

In combination with the Astra Yacht system, the instrument features two dedicated racing pages, VMG with targets or navigations versus real boat data for reaching best vmg speed and POLAR with target of speed at given wind angle versus real time boat data. It is capable of showing unique data for sailing regattas, such as “distance to lay line”, “opp tack”, “% to the target”. All data is shown directly on the display, making this jumbo the perfect solution for race crews. The software is capable of adapting to use cases, also in cruise with a multiple instruments page up to 6 data numbers and a complete wind rose. It is possible to create perfect integration with onboard sensors like the rudder angle.
