Maserati Multi70 and Giovanni Soldini ready for the 10th Hong Kong to Vietnam Race. The 673-nautical mile race in the South China Sea to start on October 25.

With one week to go until the start of the Hong Kong to Vietnam Race, scheduled for October 25, 2023 at 11:10 a.m. local time (3:10 UTC, 5:10 a.m. Italian time) and organized by the Royal Yacht Club of Hong Kong under the auspices of the RORC, Giovanni Soldini and the crew of the trimaran Maserati Multi70 are ready to tackle Asia's longest offshore race: 673 nautical miles in the South China Sea, with start line in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour and finish line off the coastal city of Nha Trang, Vietnam.

The regatta was first held in 1996 and then regularly every two years since 2004. The tenth edition in 2023 marks a resumption after a four-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, and sees Maserati Multi70 participating for the second time.

The race speed record belongs to Hong Kong SHK Scallywag Fuku's Orma 60 trimaran owned by Meitatsu Fukumoto and Seng Huang Lee, which covered the distance between Hong Kong and Nha Trang in 30h 09m 27s in 2019, less than two hours ahead of the Italian trimaran.

"Our goal is to set a new regatta record, if the weather conditions that were very favorable in 2019 will allow us to do so," says Giovanni Soldini.
