Drew Marine Signal & Safety today announces the promotion of Claire Newland, to Vice President, Business Development and General Manager UK, effective immediately.

Having joined Drew Marine Signal & Safety in 2008 as Global Director of Finance, Claire has an extensive background in business development, coupled with understanding and maintaining strong working relationships. Her in-depth knowledge of the company, combined with her sales and business growth experience, will be utilised to expand and strengthen the firm from a more senior position.

As Drew Marine Signal & Safety’s new Vice President, Claire will be involved in determining and carrying out the firm’s strategic plan by overseeing operations, developing functional roles and assigning responsibilities within the company. She will also be heavily focused on sales, marketing and new business development throughout the company, including various projects already in the pipeline.

Commenting on her promotion, Claire says, “Personally, this is a very exciting prospect to work at a more senior level within such a fast changing market, and I will ensure we stay at the forefront of what we do – focusing on maintaining our high levels of customer service by continuously adapting to fit our customers’ needs. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Drew Marine Signal & Safety for giving me the opportunity to take the next step in my career. I am immensely proud to be the first female Vice President of such a reputable company and look forward to developing the future of the brand.”

The Wilhelmsen Group has signed an agreement to acquire the Technical Solutions business from Drew Marine, a leading manufacturer and provider of advanced performance chemicals and technical solutions to the maritime industry. The final closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

The proposed transaction does not include Drew Marine Signal and Safety, under which the Comet, Pains Wessex, Oroquieta and Aurora brands are manufactured and marketed, and which will continue to operate business as usual.
