Spirits and glasses were raised high as the Outremer team collected Multihull of the Year award for their latest Outremer 52 model at the British Yachting Awards yesterday in London at The Royal Thames Yacht Club. Elected by public vote alone, the 52’ was one of five contenders in the multihull category.

The Outremer 52 combines the signature features of the legendary 51 – to which it is successor - with the fresh look and feel of the 55, which won European Yacht of the Year award in 2022. This merging of design elements has resulted in a yacht that stands out as a true masterpiece in the world of sailing. The involvement of renowned names in the industry, such as the naval architects VPLP and the French designers Patrick Le Quément, Darnet Design, has contributed to a design that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and well-engineered.

Drawing inspiration from its predecessors, the Outremer 52 preserves the qualities that have made the brand so beloved among sailors while introducing new elements to enhance the overall experience. One of the standout features of the Outremer 52 model is its seaworthiness. The naval architects and designers have worked tirelessly to create a vessel that can handle even the most challenging bluewater cruising conditions. Whether crossing oceans or leisurely exploring coastal waters, this yacht offers a safe and comfortable experience for its owners.

Continuing Momentum

The Outremer 52, has once again captured the attention of the yachting world. This time, it has been nominated for the prestigious European Yacht of the Year Award 2024, taking place at Boot Düsseldorf on the 20 January. Amongst the 21 contenders, the Outremer 52 stands tall, awaiting judgment from a highly esteemed 12-strong jury.

Following their venture to Düsseldorf, the Outremer team will then make their way to the Miami International Boat Show in February. From Wednesday 14 to Sunday 18, sailing enthusiasts from around the world will have the chance to immerse themselves in the Outremer experience. The team will present the Outremer 52 and shed light on the yacht's outstanding capabilities, as well as give a flavour of what it is like to be part of the Outremer family through its support network, owner training, and round-the-world rallies. Accompanying the team to Miami will be Holly and Stéphane. Happy owners of their beloved Outremer 52 AWEN, they will share their personal journey and insights, and hope to inspire others to embark on their own sailing adventures.

On the 17 February, Grand Large Yachting will be hosting a comprehensive day-long seminar featuring industry experts, trainers, and seasoned sailors. This event will cover a wide range of topics, from cruising routes and understanding weather patterns, to ensuring safety both onboard and at sea.
