This is neither customisation nor co-branding. Unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, the partnership between AB Yachts, the sports superyacht builder within Next Yacht Group, and Brabus has created a family of yachts with its own distinct identity: AB’s high-performance hulls and waterjet propulsion meet the German brand’s design language and bespoke culture.

The clearest indication came from Giorgio Mattei at the end of the press conference: “The AB 95 and AB 110 are evolving and will be available exclusively as Brabus models.” The distinction between a conventional AB version and a Brabus interpretation of the same models therefore disappears. Mattei also confirmed that the first Brabus AB 110 has already been sold.

For Brabus, the step is even more significant: the yacht presented in Monaco is the first in the brand’s history. “With the world premiere of the Brabus AB 110, we are presenting the first-ever Brabus yacht,” commented Constantin Buschmann, CEO and owner of Brabus. “Together with AB Yachts, we are taking our marine offering into an entirely new dimension, combining their engineering expertise with our approach to performance and attention to detail in design.”

Brabus brings its visual identity, expertise in customisation and an approach summed up by the concept of “1 Second Wow”: the product must be instantly recognisable. AB Yachts contributes more than three decades of naval engineering applied to high-performance yachts, dating back to its foundation in 1992, together with particularly extensive expertise in waterjet propulsion. This goes beyond finishes, colours or detailing. To incorporate Brabus’ distinctive elements, Mattei explained to PressMare, the engineering and production processes were revised, including the development of new moulds and models. The hull lines remain an expression of AB’s know-how, while the propulsion systems use the most powerful configurations available.

The first result is the Brabus AB 110: 33.70 metres overall with a maximum beam of 6.80 metres, featuring a composite hull and superstructure. Carbon fibre plays a prominent role in the exterior design, with an illuminated roof spoiler, exposed forward wings, LED lighting on the superstructure roof and Brabus red accents. Three MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, each delivering 2,600 hp for a combined output of 7,800 hp, are coupled to two steerable MJP waterjets and a central booster: top speed is 48 knots, while cruising speed is 41 knots at 90% engine load, with a range of 370 nautical miles. On board, there are four cabins for ten guests, plus two cabins for four crew members, with Brabus Masterpiece interiors inspired by the brand’s supercars. At the stern, a garage houses a jet tender and a three-seat personal watercraft and converts into a beach area at water level.

More compact, the Brabus AB 95 measures 28.45 metres overall with a beam of 6.80 metres. Here too, carbon fibre and Brabus styling elements significantly alter the visual character of the yacht. Three MAN V12X 2200 engines, each rated at 2,000 hp, combined with the same waterjet configuration as the AB 110, deliver a top speed of 48 knots and a cruising speed of 42 knots, with a range of 390 nautical miles. Despite its sporting character, the layout includes four cabins and accommodation for up to ten guests; the yacht is CE Category A certified.

At the top of the range is the Brabus AB 150, which takes the concept beyond 46 metres and into a different size category. The yacht accommodates up to twelve guests in five cabins, with the owner’s suite forward on the main deck, a flybridge designed for outdoor living and a beach area conceived to maintain a direct connection with the sea. The propulsion package represents an equally substantial step up: four MTU engines delivering a combined 10,400 hp, coupled to a waterjet system, for an expected top speed of 42 knots. The AB 150 is already under construction in Viareggio and will make its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2027, the year in which Brabus will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The collaboration also opens up a new commercial front. “What we are presenting in Monaco is not just a yacht, but the beginning of a range and a collaboration that we believe has significant potential for the future,” Mattei said. Next Yacht Group’s sales network will be complemented by Brabus Marine and the German brand’s specialised dealers. In Mattei’s words, the segment remains a niche within the yachting market, with two areas of particular interest: the US East Coast, especially Florida, and the Mediterranean. But the proposition is not simply about speed. A high-performance yacht, Mattei observed, compresses distances and makes it possible to enjoy, within the same day, experiences that would be difficult to combine aboard displacement or semi-displacement yachts. The customer targeted by the partnership is looking for adrenaline, but also for a yacht with a strong visual identity that is instantly recognisable.

There is, however, one boundary AB Yachts does not intend to cross. Asked by PressMare whether the team would also work on sound, as some ultra-high-performance powerboats do, Mattei said no, at least for now: the yacht must remain a luxury product, high-performing yet elegant. Brabus’ character is entering the superyacht world, but speed never becomes an end in itself.
