The operation strengthens MSC’s strategy of promoting Italian maritime excellence, offering a global growth perspective for the brand founded in 1979.

MSC Cruises SA has announced the acquisition of SLAM.com S.p.A. from Vam Investments, marking a new step in the integration between the worlds of shipping, yachting, and competitive sailing. The transaction, which carries strong symbolic and industrial value, reinforces the connection between two companies united by a deep maritime culture and a shared commitment to innovation, performance, and quality.

Founded in Genoa in 1979, SLAM is a historic name in technical and sportswear, internationally recognized for its sailing and leisure collections, as well as for partnerships with high-profile teams and regattas, including America’s Cup Defender Team New Zealand. With this acquisition, MSC Cruises aims to strengthen the position of an iconic Italian brand, ensuring long-term stability and growth, supported by MSC’s global network and international reach.

The brand will continue to focus on its traditional activities, investing in sailing, yachting, and technical sportswear lines, while also launching a new B2B professional division dedicated to developing uniforms and technical clothing for MSC Group companies. This synergy will enhance the Genoese company’s know-how in designing high-performance garments, combining design, functionality, and maritime identity.

“SLAM represents an example of Italian excellence in technical clothing for the sea,” said an MSC Cruises spokesperson. “We share with this brand authentic values and a passion for maritime culture—elements that make this integration a natural fit.”

The operation is part of MSC Group’s broader strategy to invest in high-quality Italian brands. Accuracy acted as financial advisor to MSC Cruises, while Dawan Corporate Finance assisted Vam Investments. Legal support was provided by RP Legalitax for the buyer and DWF for the seller.

By joining the MSC Group, SLAM opens a new chapter in its history, looking to international markets with reinforced industrial solidity and an identity that remains deeply rooted in its Genoese heritage.
