The UIM Aquabike Class pro Circuit World Championship was hosted in Olbia, Sardinia and scored a great success of audience and participation.

Thousands of people attended the races contested by 128 athletes from 28 different countries along the stunning coastal city of Olbia, northeast of Sardinia.

The 2 days event has also seen the participation of several representatives of international motorsports, institutions and business community onsite who were made acquainted with the secrets of the powerboat sport by UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli and H2O Racing President Mr. Nicolo di San Germano.

The spectators lived also a unique experience: the Amerigo Vespucci, the historic tall ship and training vessel of the Italian Navy was escorted by a delegation of Aquabike champions on parade with the flags of their countries.

Raffaele Chiulli, UIM President said “ That’s powerboating! A unique sport gem that unites the competitive spirit of our champions from all over the world with the charm of the hosting cities”.

In Ski Ladies, Sweden’s Emma-Nellie Ortendahl delivered yet another virtuoso performance to take her fourth Moto win of the year and extended her championship lead.

In Ski Division GP1, the Austrian Kevin Reiterer confirmed his leadership on the Belgian Quinten Bossche, while Kuwaiti Yousef Al Abdulrazzaq completed a double Moto win in Runabout GP1 to kick-start his season and put himself back in the title race.

Freestyle rider and unrivalled champion of the UAE Rashed Al Mulla enchanted the audience with a series of "flying" figures and agility movements at over 4 meters above sea level.

The next leg of the UIM Aquabike Class pro Circuit World Championship will be staged in the city of Qingdao, China.
