UIM F2 World Championship race in Tønsberg under the eyes of Norway's Prime Minister

UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli had the great honour to welcome the Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg to the third round of the 2017 UIM F2 Powerboat World Championship held in Tønsberg.

The 25 drivers competing in the F2 race as well as the UIM representatives were delighted to see the tremendous excitement the Powerboating Sport is generating in Norway and they particularly valued the time the Prime Minister spent on the race field.

“This was the best endorsement of the event and this just shows how far this race has come over the last four years. I think it’s fantastic that our Prime Minister is coming to support our race here in Tønsberg. It’s good tosee that our politicians show an interest in our sport” Said Norwegian driver Mette B. Bjerknaes.

After having waved the green flag to release the competitors away from the start pontoon, President Chiulli and the Prime Minister Erna Solberg, took the opportunity to discuss the future of sustainable motorsports events.

At the end of their meeting, Mrs. Solberg and Dr. Chiulli praised the success of the UIM F2 Grand Prix of Norway and underlined the benefits of such an event for local administrations, enterprises and communities.

The UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli was also extremely pleased with the large turnout and the quality of the exchange he had with Per Velde, new President of the Norwegian Motorsport Federation, on the cooperation between NMF and UIM and he expressed warmest thanks to him for having hosted such memorable event.
