One Ocean Foundation becomes Sustainability Partner of European Dream Cup (EDC), a partnership that fills with pride the event in Gargnano, on Lake Garda, which will host, with the support of the European Community, teenagers from 10 countries, and will be able to boast already from the first edition of such a prestigious and creditable support in the world of sustainability, one of EDC's main values and objectives.

The partnership with One Ocean Foundation is a natural step for both of us, suffice it to say that the foundation's DNA is specifically sailing. It was born after One Ocean Forum, held in 2017 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. And among the three pillars of OOF's activities there is Education, by engaging and making young people aware of how our seas should not be taken for granted.

One Ocean Foundation will provide with many activities at the European Dream Cup, a science popularization talk, the opportunity to sign the Charta Smeralda, a code of ethics of behavior and good practices, and, above all, a Charity Crew party, the proceeds of which will be used in initiatives to protect the sea. OOF will engage the participating teams and the public to answer fun quizzes about water and ocean protection to generate awareness and knowledge of the issue.

One Ocean Foundation has developed and carries out many projects related to the sailing world, the most important being the partnership with Team Denmark SailGP presented by Rockwool, in the highest level of professional sailing circuit. It is precisely thanks to the support of Team Denmark SailGP that a team of young Danish sailors will be present at the European Dream Cup.

Riccardo Bonadeo, president of One Ocean Foundation, commented, "The communion of purpose and values between the European Dream Cup and our Foundation is such that our partnership came about quite naturally. We thank our friends at Circolo Vela Gargnano for involving us in this initiative where the founding values of sport and sailing are combined with sustainability and inclusion. Fair wind to all participants!".

European Dream Cup, www.europeandreamcup.eu, will be held in Gargnano on Lake Garda from July 1st to the 15th, it will be a two week event that will include seminars and on-shore experiences, training and on-water racing aboard the hyper-tech 69Fs, the only one-design, foiling monohull for crews. It is open to students from all over Europe, the aim will be to encourage a deep connection among young people through the sport of sailing, with an emphasis on the major issues of these past few years. The sporting activity will be complemented and supported by seminars and experiences to introduce the issues of sustainability, inclusiveness and digitization thoughtfully and gradually to the participants.

The European Dream Cup is an open challenge for young students, a challenge that comes through sailing and foiling. The target audience chosen by the project (13-19 years old), is the one that has suffered most psychologically from the negative consequences of the pandemic. The project aims to give the new generation motivational tools through the sport of sailing to help them on their path of growth and life.
