Heesen Yachts announces the sale of YN 21055, Project Frida. The 55-metre Steel motor yacht has been acquired by a client drawn to the shipyard’s Dutch pedigree and the significant advantage of a shortened delivery schedule.
Market interest in Heesen’s 55-metre platform remains high because of its rare balance between immediate availability and Northern European construction standards. The vessel offers the volume and technical sophistication required for high-level yacht ownership, providing a proven engineering foundation for long-range cruising.
Yachting provides a combination of flexibility, privacy, and safety. The 55-metre platform was selected for its perfect combination of generous internal volume and compact size, granting access to the charming ports of the Mediterranean.
The interior design is by Luca Dini Design & Architecture. Silvia Margutti, lead architect at the studio, is currently collaborating with Heesen’s interior engineering department to tailor the vessel to the owner's lifestyle and taste.
"The interior of Frida reflects a modern interpretation of traditional maritime heritage," says Margutti. "The design uses dark woods in strong contrast with light tones, adding a contemporary twist. Specific locations on board are planned to display a contemporary art collection; such pieces will form the final, defining touch to the yacht."
Following the completion of the interior customisation, Project Frida will undergo intensive sea trials in the North Sea to ensure all systems meet Heesen’s rigorous standards for performance and comfort. Delivery will take place shortly thereafter, in time for the summer cruising season.
"Welcoming new owners to the Heesen family is always a significant milestone," says Jeroen van der Meer, Heesen CEO. "Project Frida represents a successful combination of Dutch engineering and a sophisticated aesthetic."
The initial sale of 2026 marks a purposeful start to the year for the shipyard.
The vessel is intended for private use.
