Members of the yacht racing community and industry can look forward to an exceptional edition of the Yacht Racing Forum on November 20-21 in Amsterdam.
The event will reassemble 200 + delegates including some of the sports’ key personalities from all over the world for conferences, debates and business, not to mention an attractive social calendar.
PROGRAMME AT A GLANCE & HIGHLIGHTS
The Yacht Racing Forum will begin on Thursday, 20 November, at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude on Friday, 21 November, at 3:30 p.m., allowing participants to head home for the weekend.
The entire conference will take place in plenary session. It will be chaired by Shirley Robertson, supported by Andy Rice for several panel discussions.
On Thursday evening, all delegates are cordially invited to Sailors’ Night, a friendly and informal evening reception.
KEY THEMES AND SESSIONS
The Yacht Racing Forum 2025 will focus on youth, their access to the sport and the yacht racing industry.
Sessions will explore event management and the success factors behind iconic regattas such as the Admiral’s Cup, Barcolana, and Trofeo Princesa Sofia. The importance of Host Venues in delivering sustainable and inclusive events will also be presented.
The evolving role of the media and its impact on organizers, clubs, and sailors will be examined.
All technology sessions will be held in plenary format, covering topics such as The Hidden Technology Beneath Magic Carpet ᵉ, innovations from SailGP and measurement instruments reliability with FT Technologies. We will ask whether sustainable composite materials are being sufficiently considered by sailing classes and boat builders, while leading experts will present the growing influence of artificial intelligence on yacht racing.
A special focus will be placed on SailGP, with additional sessions dedicated to the IMOCA class and The Ocean Race.
On Friday, a Fireside Chat featuring some of the leading figures in the sport will explore Sustainability and Inclusivity, with the goal of defining clear, concrete, and achievable objectives for the industry.
More broadly, the conference will explore the future of the sport and strategies to revive participation and boat sales in a declining market.
