The launch of SW Lady G
Cape Town, 20th February 2015: new SY launch
Southern Wind is proud to announce the launch of the third yacht in its 94-foot mini-series “Lady G”.
Designed by Reichel Pugh and Nauta Design, Lady G belongs to the particularly “performance oriented” mini-series in the shipyard’s range. This series has enjoyed considerable success following the launch of Lady G’s predecessors, Windfall and Kiboko II, with the latter earning an Honourable Mention at the 2014 edition of the annual Compasso D’Oro Award promoted by the ADI (Association for Industrial Design).
Commissioned by an expert boat owner and passionate sailor, who has already built three smaller yachts with another reputable shipyard, Lady G is a semi-custom project, born of the owner’s desire to ensure that both he and his growing family could enjoy high performance sailing in great comfort, even in light winds.
SW94#03 presents slightly different transom lines from those of her sister ships, as the aft cockpit deck floor has been lowered to emphasize her modern, sporty aspect, The owner’s cabin afore presents two separate double bunks and extra stowage lockers. A fourth guest cabin, with two Pullman bunk beds, replaces the TV lounge in the saloon.
The launch took place on February the 18th in Cape Town’s commercial harbour, in the presence of the proud owner and his family. “Lady G” will leave South Africa within the next two months and head towards the Mediterranean Sea, where the new owners will be able to enjoy the unique “allure” of their elegant superyacht.
Lady G will be officially presented as a world première during 2015 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show.
