Porto Cervo, July 9, 2021. There was no racing at the second day of the Grand Prix 2.1 event of the Persico 69F Cup circuit because of strong winds. Racing will resume tomorrow July 10th, the final and decisive day for this event.

As forecast, the Mistral breeze that kicked in yesterday afternoon was still building today. In the waters off Porto Cervo it was blowing at over 25 knots, too much for racing abord the Persico 69F boats.

Racing has been postponed until tomorrow, the final day of this first Grand Prix 2 event. The provisional scoreboard remains unchanged: the Swiss team Okalys Youth Project in the lead followed by the Italian teams FlyingNikka 47 and FlyingNikka 74 in second and third place respectively. In forth place, and tied for points with the second and third placed teams, is another Swiss team, Sailing Performance, followed by the home team, Young Azzurra.

The forecast for tomorrow still calls for Mistral at 13 to 17 knots.
