In the Aula Magna of Santa Lucia the President of the University of Bologna - Prof. Eng. Francesco Ubertini – awarded the prestigious University Seal to Patrizio Bertelli and Max Sirena, to celebrate the endeavour of Luna Rossa in the 36th America's Cup presented by PRADA, and “for having brought prestige to Italian sailing, leading it to compete at the highest levels of technology and sailing excellence with the most experienced crews in the world”.

During the ceremony the representatives of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team and those of the academic world, moderated by Rai journalist Anna Maria Cremonini, opened a dialogue on the value of technological innovation, the importance of cohesion and team spirit and on the role played by talent.

Together with them on stage were two young sailors of the New Generation project Jacopo Plazzi and Umberto Molineris who, guided by prof. Cavina, shared their America’s Cup experience.
In addition to the 300 students present in the hall, the Olympic and Paralympic athletes enrolled at the University of Bologna, recently returned from the Tokyo competition, also took part in the ceremony.

Francesco Ubertini, President of the University of Bologna: "In conferring this Seal we wish to convey the highest recognition of our university for the extraordinary goals achieved by a great team, who has successfully blended innovation with team spirit, talent and vision, perseverance and strategy, as well as consolidating a powerful relationship with the Italian industry."

Patrizio Bertelli, President of Luna Rossa and CEO of the Prada Group: " After 54 years since my first day at the University of Bologna, I find myself receiving the University Seal. I thank you for it and hope that this University will teach and train professionals and scholars who will be affirmed all over the world."

Max Sirena, Skipper and Team Director Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli: "I am highly honoured to receive this recognition which symbolizes for us the commitment and strong teamwork carried out together with the whole Luna Rossa team."
