ETF Series 2020: THE European Foiling Circuit

Sport

07/10/2019 - 18:14

Inspired by the multihulls of the America's Cup, Jean-Pierre Dick (quadruple winner of the Transat Jacques Vabre) and architect Guillaume Verdier create in 2016 the ETF26 (Easy to Fly). Through the development of this support, the skipper, who accomplished multiple turns of the world races, wishes to propose a catamaran which allows each one to sail easily and to reach the excellence of the flight aboard boats equipped with foils. Built and assembled in France, this sportsboat is designed to fly from 8 knots of wind. Its ease of use (assembly and disassembly in 4 hours without crane) and an attractive rental offer make it a perfect match for the "foil generation" racers.

For their second year, the ETF Series will be present at five major events in Europe.

SPI OUEST-FRANCE- DESTINATION MORBIHAN / La Trinité sur Mer - France / April 9-13 2020
EUROCAT / Carnac - France / May 1-3, 2020
GRAND PRIX SWITZERLAND / Crans and / or Geneva - Switzerland / June 4-6, 2020
GARDA FOILING WEEK / Malcesine - Italy / June 25-28 2020
NATIONAL ETF26 / Marseille - France / September 11-13 2020

Crews will also be able to participate in three exceptional regattas: the Bol d'Or Mirabaud in Geneva, the Tour de Belle-Ile and the Catagolfe in Arradon. It is therefore on a rich schedule that the racers will be able to live an exciting competition experience.
Training and public relations will be put in place at most regatta venues. Several offshore racing teams have tested the ETF26, some have even adopted it as an additional support for their project. This is the choice made for example Armel Tripon this season. Skipper of an IMOCA monohull, he trained on the ETF26, during the construction phases of his boat. The 26-foot foiler also allows exceptional public relations experiences offering the opportunity to everyone to fly on a foiling catamaran.

Armel Tripon, skipper of ETF26 and L'Occitane en Provence IMOCA currently under construction:
"The ETF Series allowed me to race on high profile events during the construction periods of my offshore racing monohull. It is a very good training boat because it develops the vigilance, the concentration, the understanding of the flight which will be an asset for my next experience in IMOCA, while limiting the logistical constraints. "

Dominique Ceolin, CEO of ABC arbitrage, sponsor
"ETF26 is a technological boat, just like the solutions our company is developing. The parallel is easy to make, and this sponsorship is a demonstration of our commitment to innovation with our customers. This is a real support for our communication because novelty is at the heart of our strategy and the ETF26 bring something never seen in terms of images, sensations and media. Sensations are immediate in all wind conditions. The majority of those who were able to sail with this flying catamaran returned dazzled by the experience. A quarter-hour outing is a wonderful illustration of our values: technology, innovation and performance. "
