Smart engineering: first two BeachClub yachts close to completion

Motor boat

11/03/2019 - 12:46

The first two motoryachts in our revolutionary BeachClub line will be launched this spring and this summer. As construction reaches the final stages we can see how impressive these beauties will be in practice. We knew from the designs that the yachts would have an unprecedented amount of onboard space but the situation in reality is a sight to behold. And the boats look incredibly cool too.

It is the clever design of the BeachClub range that gives such a terrific amount of indoor and outdoor space. Our patented solution is in the smart placement of the engine room within the swim platform, opening up lots of room on the lower deck. The BeachClub motoryachts offer three outdoor zones: the beach deck with sun lounge, the aft deck, and a foredeck featuring a wide range of layout options. Taking the example of the BeachClub 660 Flybridge, these three zones have a volume of 17, 17 and 25 m2!
You will also be impressed by the three indoor luxury areas: an upper salon with indoor helm station and panoramic views, a lower deck salon with galley and dinette, and the sleeping accommodations. Using the BeachClub 660 Flybridge, they measure 21, 27 and 44 m2 respectively. And then there are the fine vistas enjoyed from many places on board thanks to oversized glass surfaces and large sliding doors in the two salons and owners’ suite.

Clever solutions
Translating the novel BeachClub concept into reality required some smart engineering. All but four of those glass panels are curved, the passerelle is placed in a box between the engines, and the Kabola heater and water/gas separator exhausts are positioned far above the waterline where the vessels have a low profile.

The aft compartment propulsion and beach club solution was a particular challenge. We didn’t want to take the combustion air from too low a point so as to avoid soot particles getting into the engine room. The solution was to beef up the two corner mullions of the beach club so they also serve as air trunks: the air is aspired above deck and led down to the engine compartment. This ingenious use of space allows for an open feel while providing a safe solution for combustion and ventilation air.

Fast action
Built entirely in aluminium, the BeachClub boats have a contemporary, dynamic appearance with a moderate-V hard-chine hull. They will be ideal for use in hotspots like the South of France, Florida and the Caribbean. The 19.05-metre BeachClub 600 will feature a twin Volvo Penta IPS-950 propulsion system, giving a top speed of 25 knots, while the 20.50-metre 660 Flybridge will be equipped with twin Volvo Penta IPS-1050 for a speed of up to 30 knots.
Noise levels are minimised by fitting sound-generating equipment inside the platform.
