Tankoa Yachts – the first boutique shipyard with a multicultural approach to yacht construction – is proud to announce a rich series of novelties at the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show from September 27th to the 30th.

In addition to the world premier of the 50 meter S501 Vertige on display at QE06, the Italian yard has also presented many other novelties: from the birth of the PROGETTO BOLIDE, created together with Exclusiva Design, to the new S502 Elettra, the first Tankoa with hybrid propulsion, and the latest up-dates on work on-going aboard the Tankoa S701, with her official presentation foreseen for the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show.

TANKOA AND EXCLUSIVA DESIGN GIVE LIFE TO PROGETTO BOLIDE

Exclusiva Design is one of the most important Italian design studios with vast experience both in design and in the realization of private and public architectural projects.

The company has completed projects including the main offices for Gazprom in Saint Petersburg, airport passenger terminals, offices and public buildings, and residential projects on private islands in Doha, villas and apartments all across the Middle and Far East, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Siberia, Paris, the Côte d'Azur, London and in the Alps.

Exclusive Design, with their vast experience in complex and challenging projects for demanding and confidential clients, is especially interested in the super-yacht world. Architect and designer Fabio Mazzeo together with manager Tito Taddei, founding members of the Studio, have carefully studied the sector to identify the shipyard that is projectually closest to their quality and building construction philosophy.

This is why they have chosen Tankoa Yachts as their partner for the PROGETTO BOLIDE, a 72 meter super-yacht, radical both in design and in its interpretation of luxury. Interiors and exteriors here represent something absolutely innovative on the international scene and are the direct result of Exclusiva’s experience and know-how.

TANKOA S502 ELETTRA - AN ALL NEW HYBRID
Aligned with the world premier of the Tankoa S501 Vertige, the Italian yard has presented the new 50 meter S502 Elettra. While her lines and volumes are similar to the S501, the important innovation is revealed by her name.
The S502 Elettra, with delivery scheduled for 2019, will be a yacht featuring hybrid propulsion systems, capable of operation in five different modes:

FULL ELECTRIC MODE. The electric motors run off of onboard batteries with a total capacity of 292kW. In this mode Elettra can sail for two hours at 4 knots, or one hour at 8 knots.

DIESEL ELECTRIC MODE. In this mode the electric motors plus the two generators give the yacht 10.5 knots of speed.

LONG RANGE MODE. One of the two primary engines both propels the yacht and acts as a generator; the electrical power generated here is used to run the second electric motor. At 12 knots, the yacht will have a cruising range of apx. 3,400 nautical miles. The two diesel generators are inactive in this mode.

TRADITIONAL MODE. Elettra sails at 17 knots using both main engines for propulsion and the diesel generator for onboard services.

FULL SPEED MODE. With both main engines and generators, the yacht will reach her top speed of 18 knots
