The conditions couldn’t have been better for sailing on day three of the SW Rendezvous and Trophy: sparkling seas, brilliant sunshine and fifteen knots of breeze. The Rendezvous fleet followed a course that sailed by the beautiful islands of the La Maddalena Archipelago and ended at the designated picnic spot: the turquoise waters of the Liscia di Vacca inlet.

The fleet came back to port in time for owners and friends to prepare for the Owners Dinner, held at the Ristorante La Giagone in the scenic village of San Pantaleo. Southern Wind Shipyard’s Chairman of the Board and Yves Montanari from the evening’s Official Sponsor North Sails welcomed the guests and raised a toast to its thirtieth anniversary. After dinner SW Commercial Director Andrea Micheli presented videos that documented the shipyard’s busy times: the launches of Morgana, Ammonite, Taniwha and construction begun on the SW96#4 GT Hybrid Nyumba and SW105#05 RS Nordic Cool. The highlight was the presentation of Southern Wind’s new and sustainable hybrid propulsion projects developed in collaboration with a multinational company that, on top of constructing defence and aerospace systems, also makes the type of hybrid propulsion systems that will shape the future.
