Excitement is in the air as final preparations for the Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy, organised within the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta and hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, are underway. Southern Wind Shipyard yachts make up half the fleet of the total sixteen yachts gathered in Sardinia.

As crews gear up for the 2021 edition of the Southern Wind Shipyard Rendezvous and Trophy there is joy and a real sense of anticipation in the air. This year’s edition is extra-special as it marks a welcome return to sailing in company and is the perfect occasion to celebrate our shipyard’s third decade.

Confirming SWS’s vocation for building versatile yachts that can race as well as they can cruise, this year the bulk of the SWS fleet at the event will be participating in the well-planned programme for the non-racing Rendezvous fleet.

“After organising this type of friendly and familiar event I can say that the format is appreciated by our owners,” says Andrea Micheli, SWS Commercial Director.

“All yachts participating in the Rendezvous programme will receive a daily picnic hamper provided in collaboration with our event partner Pantaenius and two magnums of Franciacorta wine provided by Bellavista. The Rendezvous fleet will have a start of their own before heading off on a programme of short sails through the Arcipelago della Maddalena to then drop anchor and enjoy an afternoon in Sardinia’s breath-taking bays as the racing fleet sails by. In the wake of the success of our smaller “family events”, this alternative Southern Wind Rendezvous and trophy program lets all our owners enjoy the atmosphere of the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta with their friends and a smaller non-racing crew.”
