Three months after the delivery of SW105#02 Kiboko Tres, the Southern Wind Team is proud to announce the christening of SW105#03 "The Power of 2", which increases the numbers of SWS’ fleet of high performance bluewater cruisers currently sailing all around the globe.
Third hull in the winning SW105 mini-series and first with the new ‘Deck Saloon’ configuration she is designed by Farr Yacht Design (naval architecture) and Nauta Design (interior and exterior design).
This ongoing and successful cooperation was very recently given ultimate recognition from the industry at the Boat International Design and Innovation Awards. Seatius, the SW96#02 was given the Neptune Award for the 2019 Best Sailing Yacht Interiors.
“Power of 2”, was commissioned by a keen sailor who was looking to step up from a smaller sailing yacht for faster sailing and exploring remote locations in comfort and safety.
Cruising comfort is in her DNA, making "Power of 2" the ideal yacht for long- range navigation and easy sailing given most sea conditions. Her twin rudder system combined with the lifting keel (3-5m) allows access to more remote shallower ports and anchorages, and with the keel down this configuration provides excellent upwind light air performance. Her fixed bowsprit with an integrated anchor arm makes for easy anchoring. "Power of 2" has a clean deck layout with efficiently engineered hardware.
SW105#03 is built with a Deck Saloon configuration that was specifically designed by Nauta Design and Southern Wind Shipyard. The yacht’s coachroof coamings create a protected guest cockpit and integrate with the deckhouse lines seamlessly.
The main saloon is a light, bright open space where eight to ten people can relax together in comfort on sofas or at the dining table while enjoying 270° views of the outside. Immediately forward of the living area, is a fully equipped custom bar that separates the main saloon from the owner’s private area.
The lifting keel’s design allows light to cross the saloon joining both sides of the yacht. SW105#03’s interior features Southern Wind Shipyard’s most popular owner’s cabin, with the forward layout. This comprises three comfortable en suite guest cabins amidships with crew quarters and galley aft; a layout that allows maximum privacy for crew and guests.
SW105#03 “Power of 2” is soon to undertake extensive sea trials before heading for the very intense cruising plan her owners prepared for her.
