New Numarine 32xp Marla: Born to travel in style

Superyacht

Numarine, the European high performance motor yacht shipyard headquartered based in Istanbul with a range from 62' - 130', is delighted to reveal all details of its flagship, M/Y “Marla”. The 32.5-metre superyacht, unit #1 of the new 32XP Series has been delivered last summer to its Owner, who stopped using it only a few weeks ago. Hulls no.2 and 3 were sold in Autumn after the delivery of the first.

The new series of explorer superyachts, established by Numarine, the XP Series, is the quintessence of the modern boatbuilding. It is minimalistic, yet sophisticated. Compact, yet spacious. Glamorous, yet reliable and seaworthy. It has been conceived by the shipyard’s owner and CEO Omer Malaz, who a few years ago anticipated a major trend on the market: superyachts have to be superyachts with all required amenities and features but they have to be very efficient both in terms of production and the following use.

M/Y Marla is a perfect example of a compact explorer yacht. While being just under the limit of 300 GT category. She offers incredible volumes of internal living spaces on board, with her steel hull construction and GRP superstructure allowed to create unique layouts internally and customized external spaces. Simplicity of use, engaging styling and the seamless integration of systems are key principles of the yacht.

As Omer Malaz puts it, she is inspired by hi-tech companies and devices that run the world now. The yacht is easy to manage thanks to the user-friendly interface developed by Energy Solutions, and the captain runs her without an engineer.

She accommodates up to 12 guests and is ready for long cruises thanks to her proven hull and ample of storage facilities. The level of comfort on board is spectacular. Special attention has been paid to reduction of noise and vibration using modern technologies. Even when Marla is running, the noise level on board does not exceed 45 decibels; it is quiet like a library.

VIEW FROM OUTSIDE
M/Y Marla, as well as the whole XP Series, looks very different comparing to the shipyard’s other performance models. The styling is made by Can Yalman, the renowned design partner of Numarine responsible for all of the shipyard’s distinctive model lines. Her silhouette is deliberately rugged, powerful and hefty with extensive angular windows.

The vertical bow is another contemporary feature added to the yacht and it has a purpose to cut through the water with ease. The hull’s shape, which is designed by Numarine’s long-standing collaborator, naval architect Umberto Tagliavini, is beneficial to the internal volumes.

MODERN, SPACIOUS LAYOUT
The yacht’s interior has also been penned by Can Yalman. Like all Numarines, the interior of the 32XP has been fully customized to reflect the owner’s preferences in terms of layout, design, fabrics and materials. There are various marbles, woods, leather, brass. Comfy furniture, objects and textiles are provided by leading companies, such as Missoni Home, B&B Italia and Tom Dixon.

The main deck of the 32XP offers a generous cockpit that also provides for a comfortable stern sunpad area right behind the couch seating, for a total of 64 square meters of living space (including side passages).

An expansive salon of 48 square meters leads to a lobby area with a day head and a separate gym on the starboard side, and then to a full-beam forward master cabin with more than 30 square meters of space and separate his and hers bathrooms sharing a very generous central shower.

Center-ship on the portside, a fully functional kitchen with four full-height refrigerators links to the salon via a pantry area and to the crew quarters below, connected to the external portside passage with a crew-dedicated entrance, all to allow the highest standard of service on board and maximum guest privacy.

Below deck, the layout offers two VIP Cabins mid-ship and a pair of double cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms, and over 85 square meters of living space.

Below deck forward, the 5 person crew quarters provide ideal spaces for the captain with his private cabin + ensuite, and 4 crew members in two doubles with ensuite. A crew kitchen with dinette area and a laundry room complete the crew area.
UPPER DECK AND SUNDECK
On the upper deck, a truly phenomenal owner’s cabin with over 40 square meters of living space including a large walk-in closet and generous owner’s bathroom opens up via sliding doors to the incredibly large upper deck. The deck can fit in navigation a spectacular 9-meter RIB tender from Greek brand Technohull, famous for a one-of-a-kind velocity, and two jet-skis with the help of the 2.5 Tons crane.

Forward of the wheelhouse, in the Numarine tradition there is a large couch area with bimini and cocktail table and two extensive sunpad areas. Total external space on the upper deck is fantastic 129 square meters.

The flybridge offers 60 square meters of entertainment space customized to include in the first unit 3 couches, a 12 persons dining table, two large sunpad areas a fully-fitted bar, and three navigation seats around a secondary helm station.

SILENCE IS PERFECTION
Numarine paid considerable attention to the elimination and reduction of all noise and vibration sources, and already with hull no.1 it has surpassed even DNV Class 1 Comfort Class Requirements (more stringent than RINA) and achieved comfort levels of a high quality 50 meters megayacht in a 32 meters superyacht.

Numarine M/Y Marla is expected to make night passages during her long voyages that is why the highest level of comfort while underway was so important to achieve. Numarine’s longstanding partner Silent Line, run by Sjaak van Cappellen, developed and installed the solutions to provide the right ambiance. In order to do that, they have disconnected cabins from the yacht’s structure, which is quite unique for a 32.5-metre yacht. Usually, says van Cappellen, this advanced technology is applied on much bigger megayachts over 80 metres in length. Therefore, the owner can sleep well and is unaware when Marla is running.

The stats say it all. 22 decibels is not exceeded in any guest area on the lower deck at anchor with the generator running and when cruising the level inside does not climb beyond 45db.

EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE
Regarding performance, the new Numarine 32XP, exploiting the yard's engineering capabilities together with its long-standing partner naval architect Umberto Tagliavini, has a very efficient displacement hull that gives Marla a top speed of 14 knots, a cruise speed of 12 knots, and inspiring 4,000 Nm range at 9 knots.

More 32xps coming
The unit #2 has been sold in August 2017 by Numarine USA and the unit #3 has been sold in September 2017 in a direct deal. Both will be delivered next summer 2018.

The XP Series also includes a smaller version (the 26XP, three hulls have already been sold to clients) and a larger version – the 44XP.
