Nautor’s Swan is proud to announce that Palma de Mallorca and the Real Club Nautico de Palma will be the perfect location and hosting club for the second edition of The Nations Trophy.

From October 8th to 1CopiaCtrl+C2th 2019, the Swan One Design fleets of ClubSwan 50s, Swan 45s and ClubSwan 42s will gather once more to fight for the beautiful Buccellati Trophy. “The Real Club Nautico de Palma is a perfect venue for the Swan One Design events. The Nations Trophy concept was launched in Palma last October and was a great success because the values of the RCNP perfectly match those of Nautor’s Swan and their organisation is exceptional. And, for those reasons, we had no hesitation in including both PalmaVela and Copa del Rey in the Med League, confirming also the 2019 edition of The Nations Trophy.” commented Leonardo Ferragamo, Group Executive Chairman of Nautor’s Swan.

"The experience from the first edition of The Nations Trophy, held in 2017, is still fresh in our minds and has been very positive for the Real Club Nautico de Palma." commented Javier Sanz, President of the RCNP.  "We enjoyed some very good racing that has reinforced the excellent relationship with Nautor Swan, one of the most prestigious boatyards in the world. It is an honor for us to have been asked to be the organizing club for the 2019 edition. The 2017 edition has confirmed that the owners really like the Nations Trophy format and the latest aims to become one of the Mediterranean events not to be missed. The Real Club Nautico de Palma and Mallorca will be very pleased to host you one more time. The club extends a warm welcome and we are pleased to have you again in our bay and city."

In 2018, Nautor’s Swan has extended the concept of One Design yachts fighting both for their own results as well as for their Nations, by introducing a season-long league in the Mediterranean. Thus The Nations Trophy Mediterranean League will maintain the spirit of gentlemanly competition between countries engendered by the original event. Adding further excitement to the concept, the 2018 and 2019 TNT Mediterranean Leagues will impact upon the final result of The Nations Trophy 2019*.

The Nations Trophy Mediterranean League includes: Monaco Swan One Design, Sail Racing PalmaVela, Rolex Giraglia and Copa del Rey Mapfre.

“In 2019, the Club Swan 50 class will reach maturity and the level of competition will have grown dramatically. In these conditions, only the best Yacht Club and especially the best race committee can deliver the required exceptional race management. This is what you find at the Real Club Nautico de Palma and it’s exactly what The Nations Trophy is seeking to handle aggressive starts, packed mark-roundings and tight finishing.” Declared Philippe Oulhen, Clubswan 50 Class President.

After the thrilling Monaco Swan One Design event, the fleets are moving to the next leg of the season: the 15th edition of Sail Racing PalmaVela.

With 21 Swan yachts already confirmed, among which 16 Swan OD, the adrenaline is kicking in with the sailors who are defining the tactics. For sure it is expected to be a great week of racing.

Organised by the Real Club Náutico de Palma and the Real Federacion Española de Vela the event will run between the 2 and 6 of May 2018.
