Also this year the Italian shipyard Maxi Dolphin is the official supplier of the “Sailor of the Year FIV” who assigns his awards on Monday 31 May in the setting of Villa Miani in Rome.
After the victory obtained last year with the Maxi Dolphin MD 75 by Mills elected "Sailing Yacht 2020" at The International Yacht & Aviation Awards, the Maxi Dolphin Shipyard is again in the nominations for the 2021 edition of the highest international design award with the Maxi Dolphin MD62ab. Designed by the Argentine studio A. Bottino Design in collaboration with the Shipyard's Technical Office, the Maxi Dolphin MD62ab is competing in two categories: Sailing Yacht and Main Salon.

18.80 meters long and 5.40 meters wide, the Maxi Dolphin MD62ab was launched in September 2020 and successfully passed the severe Atlantic crossing test going from Italy to Punta del Este, Uruguay, where it was delivered to its owner. Since then she has been sailing in the waters of South America. Entirely built in carbon fiber sandwich with vacuum lamination and post-cured at 60° C in the 40-meter oven of the Shipyard, the Maxi Dolphin MD62ab has lightened interiors in bleached oak and combines the highest construction technologies, design and craftsmanship in the attention to detail that has always distinguished Maxi Dolphin’s.

Quality that combined with the custom setting that is in the history of Maxi Dolphin, are the basis of the owner's choice of the second Maxi Dolphin MD62ab currently under construction (delivery to the Italian owner scheduled for spring 2022) and which, among other things,, will have a racer organization of the deck plan and in the maneuvering cockpit, canting keel and a new organization of the interiors.

The construction of the second Maxi Dolphin MD62ab confirms the validity of the project running for The International Yacht & Aviation Awards, whose awards will be assigned (the winners will be announced on 9th July in Venice) also on the basis of the votes cast online by enthusiasts.
The online voting (under the link) is open until 7th July and everyone can express their preference. The invitation is to give your preferences to the Maxi Dolphin MD62ab and to the work of Maxi Dolphin, a shipyard that symbolizes made in Italy.
