Reputed internationally for the construction of "customs" yachts, JFA Yachts develops every year new projects in collaboration with internationally renowned architects and designers.
The French shipyard approached the naval architecture office Dixon Yacht Design to design a new kind of blue water sailing boat.

Sharing their expertise, they want to offer a true long-distance cruising monohull made of aluminum, a centerboarder yacht able to navigate in all kinds of environments and sized to be conducted with a shorthanded crew. Thus was born the Adventure 68, a design that shows that comfort & performance come together in a thoroughly modern yacht that redefines the genre.

Bill Dixon says: The high-volume hull, with its long waterline, takes design ques from the modern shorthanded racing yachts, to give the owner outstanding performance combined with a layout that makes sailing the yacht shorthanded safe and secure. The single living space encompassing the cockpit and the saloon, gives amazing protection both inside and out, with the ability to watch keep in a secure environment. The integrated solid bimini makes a perfect space for multiple solar panels, giving a real boost to onboard energy. Depending on the requirement, the tender could sit transversally in a garage, lifting out through a large deck hatch. Alternatively, the tender can sit athwartships securely on the aft deck, lifting into the water with a carbon fibre davit. The rig configuration offers the flexibility of twin headsail that can be used together or separately depending on the point of sail and conditions. All sail controls lead a secure position in the cockpit, with protection from the deep hull bulwark.

For a 68-footer the accommodation offered is more akin to a 75 to 80' vessel. There are four sleeping cabins, with three providing great seagoing cabins depending on the conditions additionally to the spacious owners' forwards. Bill Dixon explains: "The aft triple cabin can be set up for crew and has its own en-suite and dedicated washer/dryer space. Opposite the mid-level galley makes for a very secure are offering good communication with the saloon and the cockpit, aft, accessed from the galley is a dedicated storage area/workshop. Since the Adventure 68 is designed to explore both norther latitudes cruising and tropical environments, the saloon offers a very safe and comfortable environment. The excellent indoor visibility makes watchkeeping inside practical.

JFA Yachts' highly skilled teams work to build "in-house" exceptional yachts, combining technical efficiency and comfort on board. There is no doubt that this project will seduce an owner concerned about the quality of realization of an authentic sailboat.

Bill Dixon concludes: All in all, the Adventure 68, is offering serious voyagers something that up until now has been missing from the market.
