Privilège supports Boris Herrmann`s Team Malizia in the Vendée Globe

Les Sables-d´Olonne, 30.10.2020: In the ninth edition of the legendary singlehanded regatta which starts and finishes in Privilège’s home port of Les Sables-d`Olonne, the shipyard is supporting German professional sailor Boris Herrmann and his Team Malizia in a technical partnership. Two-time singlehanded sailing world champion Philippe Jeantot not only invented the Vendée Globe, but also founded the Privilège bluewater catamaran shipyard in 1985. The brand has since become synonymous with comfort and safety at sea.
Boris Herrmann said: "It is an honour to have Privilège as our technical partner for the Vendée Globe 2020. They are closely connected with this region and with the race, and this background is very valuable for me and Team Malizia. I am ready and a little excited to participate in my first Vendée Globe race, and to be the first German sailor to take part in the event. For me, this is about more than just a trophy; I am sailing with the mission to raise awareness of the climate crisis and to deepen our scientific knowledge of CO2 levels in the Southern Ocean with my automated on-board laboratory. Without all my partners, my sponsors and my team, this dream would not have come true. Many thanks to Privilège for your support".
