At the Cannes Yachting Festival, Avon and Torqeedo first introduced the Avon eJET Concept, a fully electric luxury jet tender. Since then, the tender has received international acclaim, including “honorable mention” at the IBI Boat Builder Awards during Metstrade in Amsterdam. eJET was also a finalist in the Nautic Innovation Awards held at the Paris boat show Le Nautic, created to reward solutions that best match with innovation, market impact and efficiency of the business model.

The Miami International Boat Show was chosen for the US premiere of this groundbreaking design. The tender may be viewed at the Avon booth in Tent C217.

After introducing the first Jet tender to the world in 1991 and completely revamping the landscape of the luxury yacht tender through its Avon brand for over 20 years, Zodiac Nautic Group is doubling down on its commitment to keep exploring the future of the boating industry.

Together with the world leader in marine electric propulsion, Germany-based Torqeedo, Avon has developed the eJET concept, a 100% electric tender that solves the most pressing problems faced by yacht owners: carrying fuel for tenders, changing oil, dealing with reliability issues and costly maintenance. The eJET Concept has performed admirably in testing, both in terms of performance and reliability, leading Avon and Torqeedo to further collaborate on a commercial range of eJETs that will be available in Cannes 2018.

These tenders will be equipped with the most advanced 80hp electric engine from Torqeedo and the latest generation of automotive battery (32kWh used in the BMW i3). Based on early testing, the eJET will get a 90 minutes range in normal use and achieve a max speed of 26 knots thanks to its new hull technology.

The eJET products carry connected capabilities allowing them to be maintained and upgraded directly through the Internet. Zodiac Connected Boat device will also let users track their location in real time, save their trips, turn on the lights from a distance, control battery levels, etc.

True to its luxury background, Avon eJETs feature carbon-textured hypalon fabric, exceptional upholstery by Serge Ferrari with a quilted finish sewn by hand in France, and leather-wrapped handles as used in the personal airplane industry. The range will be entirely customizable upon request.
