Brunel, the international business services and recruitment services provider, has become the Official Human Resources Partner of the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18.

The company has a long history in the race dating back to the 1997-98 event when they sponsored the team Brunel/Sunergy.

Since then, Brunel has been involved with three subsequent team entries, including Team Brunel in this edition of the race. But this marks the first time Brunel has partnered with the event organisers.

“Brunel has been a valued and consistent partner for teams in this event, dating back to the final Whitbread Round the World Race in 1997,” said Antonio Bolaños Lopez, Managing Director of the Volvo Ocean Race.

“For this edition, they are the title partner of Team Brunel, supporting skipper Bouwe Bekking in his incredible eighth participation in the race. Now we are pleased to have them join us as an Official Partner of the event, with a focus on supplying us with specialised Human Resources services.”

The Volvo Ocean Race is sailing’s iconic race around the world and the ultimate test of a team in professional sport. The 2017-18 edition started from Alicante, Spain on 22 October and will finish in The Hague, Netherlands in June 2018. The race course covers 11 legs over 45,000 nautical miles taking in 12 major cities on six continents.
