The online game offered by Virtual Regatta is an unprecedented success and confirms the public's attraction for online racing, with more than 300,000 participants. Registrations are still open, but beware of the gale announced tonight!

Paris, 5 November 2018 - They were 230,000 on Sunday at 14:00 on the start line of the Route du Rhum Destination Guadeloupe and they have since been joined by 70,000 new players!
The public endorses the official Virtual Regatta game, which still offers players the opportunity to register. Newcomers will be virtually dropped on the sailboat of their choice (Ultime Class, IMOCA monohulls, Class40 or Multi50), to enable them to join the online gaming community and set sail for Pointe-à-Pitre, in Guadeloupe.
Virtual Regatta, the world leader in online racing, is the official game of the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe, a solo transatlantic race between Saint-Malo and Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), which started yesterday afternoon in Saint-Malo.
"This is an unprecedented success, of which we are very proud," says Philippe Guigné, the founder of Virtual Regatta. "The new team game function, which brings together members of a family, a group of friends or employees of a company for a fun activity, is an unprecedented success, with more than 4,500 teams already formed. »

"The success of the virtual race is a great satisfaction for us," says Hervé Favre, President of OC Sport Pen Duick, in charge of organising the Route du Rhum. "It allows us to develop an even stronger relationship with ocean racing enthusiasts, who become true "fans" of our event".

The most dedicated online sailors spent last night managing the evolution of their boat. The novices sail at their own pace, benefiting from the advice provided by the tutorial. Many players have acquired one or more options allowing them to race in the best possible conditions: autopilot, waypoints, automatic sail trim.
Next night, a new serious gale is announced. The battle is raging, between the 120 sailboats fighting in the North Atlantic and the 300,000 virtual sailboats launched after them.
