The Cetilar Sailing Series M32 European could not have hoped for a better finale: the last day of racing of the season, hosted in Trieste as a collateral event of the worldwide famous Barcolana, crowned the winner of the 2018 circuit with a stunning day of sailing and eight races completed.

The indisputable winner of 2018 M32 European Series is GAC Pindar by Ian Williams: despite not having joined the first act of the season, held in Valencia, the British crew won all the following regattas - including Trieste - and triumphed in the circuit with a margin of 10 points over Vitamina Veloce by Andrea Lacorte. The seasonal podium, after six events, is completed by Hakan Svensson Vikings that conquered the bronze medal with 46 points.

The last day of the Fincantieri Cup was then a perfect closing for a wonderful season: not only thousands of spectators watched the regattas from the shores of Trieste, but there were also guests on the water, on board of spectators boats, enjoying the speed and the show of the M32 catamarans.

The prize giving ceremony, held in the Barcolana Village, crowned the already mentioned GAC Pindar as winner of the circuit and the event, followed on the podium by Section16 and Vitamina Veloce, respectively second and third classified of the Fincantieri Cup.

The Corinthian division, reserved to non-professional teams, brought to success Andrea Lacorte’s Vitamina Veloce, second overall in the seasonal ranking.

Thanks to Barcolana and Circolo Velico di Barcola e Grignano for the precious support. We look forward to cooperate again with the biggest sailing event in the world!

Riccardo Simoneschi, Ceo of Sailing Series commented:"It has been a great season of sailing trough Italy, Spain, Norway and Denmark. We thank every hosting Club and Cities for the great collaboration we had and we move forward to an exciting and innovative 2019 season. Stay tuned on Sailing Series! we will be back very soon"
