The 2017 edition of the M32 Mediterranean Series just came to an end today, with the conclusion of the Fincantieri Cup, Act number five of the season organized by BPSE that attracted the best catamaran sailors from all over the World.

The leg was concluded with seven races, all of them sailed in conditions of extremely light wind, that brought to success the Swiss entry Section 16 by Richard Davies with Christopher Rast calling tactics, shortly followed by Andrea Lacorte’s Vitamina Veloce and by Swedish entry Vikings, tied in points with Italia Sailing Team by Riccardo Simoneschi.

The victory of the overall circuit, then, went to Andrea Lacorte’s Vitamina Veloce with 65 points and a margin of 8 points over Italia Sailing Team of Riccardo Simoneschi. Bronze medal for Richard Davies Section 16: a great result, considering the team didn’t join the fourth leg of the circuit.

Dean Bassi, sport director of Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano, organizing yacht cub of the world famous Barcolana and host of the M32 Fincantieri Cup, awarded the winner of the 2017 edition, Andrea Lacorte, with BPSE perpetual trophy.

The dates of next season have been announced yesterday, but crews can’t wait to discover the locations that will host the seven events of the 2018 M32 Mediterranean Series. To do so, they will have to wait for another month.
