The Landsail Tyres J-Cup has an enviable horde of prizes for the competitors and not just the winners! Now in its 21st year, the annual J Boats celebration is supported by a host of sponsors. Landsail Tyres generosity allows complimentary berthing at Cowes Yacht Haven for the 2020 regatta. The Landsail Tyres J-Cup will also be the UK National Championship for the J/109 and J/111 Classes.

"We are thrilled that, in this milestone year, the Landsail Tyres J-Cup will be able to go ahead despite the challenges 2020 has brought," said Peter Cross, Landsail’s UK Commercial Manager. "This will be the sixth year we have supported the event, making it the longest sponsorship association Landsail has. Over those six years Landsail has grown into a brand that is trusted by millions in the UK and the J-Cup has grown too, driven on by race hosts Key Yachting.”

For many years the regatta has been supported by Fastnet Insurance, B&G, and North Sails. All entrants to the Landsail Tyres J-Cup will receive a voucher from B&G, and the Prize Giving Dinner will also feature some fantastic prizes from sail bags and jackets to hi-tech B&G marine electronics. This year, Fastnet Insurance are supplying limited edition neck gaiters/face coverings and hand sanitisers for all competitors.

North Sails will be on the water throughout the regatta. From the North RIB, the local experts will offer coaching, sail trim tips, and support to all. All teams are encouraged to ask for pointers or advice. North Sails will also be taking drone footage to provide video debrief and spot prizes of North Sails clothing and merchandise. Prizes will be up for grabs by teams that do not make the podium!

The bevvy of prizes for competitors includes sailing gear and equipment from Cyclops Marine, Dolphin Sails, Henri-Lloyd, Ocean Rope, Wight Vodka and XV stripes.

Three one design classes will be competing including the J/109 and J/111 Classes, which will have the added thrill of competing for their respective national championships. The largest class racing will be the J/70 with 14 teams already entered. The J/70 fleet will be flying yacht club burgees of the RORC, Royal Southern, Royal Thames and Royal Yacht Squadron. IRC Classes have been organised for mixed fleets of J Boats racing at the Landsail Tyres J-Cup.

Key Yachting and the Royal Ocean Racing Club have been hard at work to maintain safety of all involved, both ashore and afloat. The sailing instructions include details of COVID-19 procedures. There is also a no spinnaker/gennaker wind limit designed to work with reduced crew numbers. All Competitors will be welcome at the RORC Cowes clubhouse during the event. Two separate daily prize givings have been organised to assist with social distancing. Crew suppers are available every evening by booking with the RORC Clubhouse.

The most coveted award at the Landsail Tyres J-Cup is the J-Cup itself, which will be awarded at the Prize Giving Dinner on Saturday 5th September.
