Extreme Sailing Series owners and organisers OC Sport have today announced new partnerships with WTC Logistics and BAR Rigging.

Expanding their commercial portfolio, OC Sport will look to these brands to assist with the continued success of the Extreme Sailing Series. WTC Logistics will manage the complex worldwide shipping of the Series boats, equipment and support materials, with BAR Rigging offering bespoke rigging packages to the Series' teams.

The WTC Logistics agreement will see them become an Official Partner of the Series until 2020. They will provide a complete logistics support package for the Series' 12th year, to include transportation and customs clearance for the fleet of GC32 boats and the supporting infrastructure at each of the eight host venues for 2018, which includes shore-side facilities such as TV production equipment, the Race Village and VIP area.

WTC Logistics' Managing Director Stuart Mathieson commented on the new partnership. "WTC are thrilled to have been chosen as the preferred logistics partner for the Extreme Sailing Series and all that it entails. This is a hugely exciting opportunity for WTC Logistics UK to enhance our service range and to excel in a competitive environment where every second counts.

"As logistics professionals, we understand the importance of speed and precision planning – we believe we can certainly be an asset in achieving this for the Extreme Sailing Series."

Harry Spedding, Extreme Sailing Series Technical Team Leader, is looking forward to working with WTC Logistics: "The logistical challenges presented by the Series are huge. As a global event, we will visit eight countries across three continents over 10 months in 2018, often working under severe time pressures, and so logistics management is absolutely crucial to the successful delivery of the event.

"We're excited to be working with WTC Logistics and are confident that their worldwide network will ensure they deliver the global solutions that the Series needs."

Fellow new partner BAR Rigging will become an Official Supplier to the Extreme Sailing Series GC32 fleet for 2018 and 2019. Providing bespoke, high performance rigging packages for the hydro-foiling catamarans, BAR Rigging will enable the teams to excel on the water in the knowledge that their equipment is the best in the business.

Chris Noble, BAR Rigging Manager is thrilled to be involved: "To become recognised in this way is a testimony to the consistency and reliability of our product. The opportunity to work closely with the event management and GC32 teams highlights that we are pushing the specification, design and properties of our product forward and really maximising our capabilities.

"The partnership gives the Extreme Sailing Series teams peace of mind that they are picking a product off the shelf that meets their expectations and pushes the performance of their team forwards."

Spedding commented: "In terms of competition, this year's Extreme Sailing Series promises to be the toughest yet. The teams need to know that their equipment is of the highest calibre, and will allow them to perform at the highest possible level on the water. We're pleased to be working with BAR Rigging and are confident that our teams will benefit substantially from these bespoke packages."

In 2018, the Extreme Sailing Series will traverse eight Host Venues across the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. The action starts in Muscat, Oman 14-17 March. Follow on the official website.
