The Norwegian champion has been diagnosed a disease that will require a month of medical treatment. For this reason, he and Team Australia will not attend the upcoming stage of the XCAT World Championship in China, but they will be back for the Dubai races. We report his statement.

Pål Virik Nilsen and Team Australia state that they will not attend the China stage of the 2020 XCAT World Championship, scheduled for the beginning of November in Shanghai.
The Norwegian sportsman, throttleman of Team Australia boat n. 8, has been diagnosed with a disease that will require a month of thorough medical treatment. This will impede his and the team's attendance to the Shanghai races, but Pål is 100% confident that they will be back for the final stage of the Championship, in the UAE in December.
A tough challenge for him, so we want to join his large family, his friends and his fans in supporting him during this time.

This is the statement from Pål Virik Nilsen himself:

"After several visits this year to doctors and hospitals in Norway, I sadly enought got diagnosed with cancer. To get cancer is just so hard for yourself and all people around you both mentally and physically. I am now on treatment in Oslo getting radiation- and chemotherapy for six weeks.
The prediction is quite good but it will be an Autumn out of the ordinary. This will be my most important race so far in life. And everything that needs to be done must be done to win it. I want to thank everyone who supports me during this period".
