As of January 1, 2018, Nicola Pomi will head up Volvo Penta’s marine sales division for the European region, for both the leisure and commercial sectors. He will also become part of the Region Europe Management Group (EEM). He has a wealth of experience at Volvo Penta, having progressed through several roles.

Pomi joined Volvo Penta in 2006, initially as Business Controller and Local Manager in Italy. He became Marine Department Manager in Italy, in 2009; and in 2015 he took on an additional role as Marine Manager for Volvo Penta’s Spanish office. He has a degree in economics and business management from Milan University and is fluent in several languages. Pomi, 45, is married with two daughters.

“I have worked extensively at Volvo Penta for more than a decade now, and seen many developments, both in terms of our marine offer and business strategy,” says Pomi. “Becoming head of the marine engine sales division in Europe is a great new challenge, and I look forward to being at the heart of our company’s progression.”

Continuity and new impetus
Pomi is succeeding Pascal Jamet (pictured, left), who has successfully led Volvo Penta’s European marine sales division for 10 years. In his new position, Jamet will become Marine Business Manager for France and Spain, and will help develop new projects in the marine leisure segment for boats of 25-40 feet.

“We have had some exciting developments in the marine sector in recent months,” says Stefan Carlsson, head of Volvo Penta’s Marine Diesel segment. “The continuity of knowledge and fresh

ideas that Nicola will bring to the role, will enable us to keep moving forward with a premium offer for our customers. I wish both Nicola and Pascal success in their new roles.”
