GOOD DESIGN™ continues to grow year over year, receiving record submissions for 2018 from global leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms
Originally released in 2004, the Shorehike was lauded as a highly innovative sailing shoe that took watersports footwear in a new direction; it was years ahead of its time. Out of thousands of entries, the Shorehike One.2 shone as a professional grade product that resurrects the classic design, while built with improved technologies.
“The footwear design team and I are incredibly excited and honored,” saidKristofer Eidsgaard, Category Managing Director for Footwear at Helly Hansen.
“Receiving a GOOD DESIGN™ award celebrates not only Helly Hansen’s lasting designs, but also its continued innovation and performance in design in the footwear industry.”
The Shorehike One.2 bridges Helly Hansen’s ‘Sailing Performance’ & ‘Pier/Lifestyle’ segments, featuring a unique slip - on upper where the ‘sock’ offers comfort, breathability, and quick drying materials, whilst the second layer cradles and supports the foot. The outsole is designed with a custom multi - directional grip system, in Helly Hansen’s own Storm Grip, non-marking, rubber compound. This mid-cut sailing sneaker is packed with clever performance attributes, but also offers style and comfort in abundance.
The Shorehike One.2 will be available for purchase in spring 2019
