Tyrrhenian Sea - The seventh spent at sea by the protagonists of the Navy Nastro Rosa Veloce-Fincantieri Cup, the longest non-stop regatta in the Mediterranean organized by Difesa Servizi S.p.A., SSI Events in collaboration with the Marina Militare, was interlocutory.
After crossing the lower Tyrrhenian with a couple of gybes useful to mediate between breeze shifts and the approach to the Gulf of Naples, Team Urban Value (Sophie Faguet-Pierre Leboucher) has left the Amalfi gate behind and is preparing to re-enter the fresh south-easterly breeze which, intensifying over the next few hours, should accompany them first to the Pisa gate and then to the Genova finish line. According to the weather models, Faguet-Leboucher, in command from the start, could cross the finish line in the early hours of Tuesday, in any case during the day.
58 miles south of Capri, Team Venezia Salone Nautico (Cecilia Zorzi-Alessandro Torresani) and Team Softway (Pam Lee-Andrea Fornaro) are sailing tight in a moderate south-east breeze. From the moment of the rapprochement, Zorzi-Torrsani seem to resist the return of Lee-Fornaro, but the gap of just 3 miles between the two Beneteau Figaro 3 requires the constant search for maximum performance on both crews.
130 miles behind, close to Mazara del Vallo, Team ENIT (Irene Bezzi-Pietro D'Alì) completed the comeback started a few days ago, moving from eighth to fourth position: a good improvement also with an eye to the "prize pool". Marina Militare (Elisabetta Maffei-Federico Piani) and Team Acone (Catherine Hunt-Alexis Thomas) are following it on sight, with Hunt-Thomas that are only one of the three to have chosen a route off the coast of Sciacca.
Just beyond Licata, Team Sanfer (Maggie Adamson-Matteo Ichino) tries to recover ground after having defended the fourth position for a long time, while the Sicilian gate are now in sight for Genova TOR (Dominique Knuppel-Guillerno Altadill) and Aeronautica Militare (Margherita Digrazia- Giancarlo Simeoli).
The last 24 hours have been positive for Team Fratelli Visconti (Lisa Berger-Alex Laline): the rear of the fleet, 260 miles from the tread, has made up ground on his rivals, now about twenty miles away.
