Genoa, 20 August 2021 - The Nastro Rosa tour is an ambitious project in which seafaring, experiences and traditions blend with the modern sailing sport, emblem of the link between maritime culture and the values ​​underlying the training of every sailor, of which the Marina Militare is caretaker.

When there are less than ten days to the official start of the event, scheduled at the Porto Antico in Genoa on August 26, the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2021 has now defined the entry list of both disciplines "in crew", that is the offshore event, which will be held using ten brand new Beneteau Figaro 3, and the inshore event, whose emotions will be guaranteed by the evolution of the Diam 24 catamarans.

As for the offshore, which along the Genoa-Naples route will award the European title of the Double Handed Mixed Offshore discipline, there are ten crews that have regularized their registration. Eight countries represented - Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Italy (two teams), Spain, Sweden, South Africa, USA (two teams) - which could become ten. The Sailing Federations of Japan, Cyprus and France have actually expressed their intention to be at the start with their respective crews, but there are issues related to health protocols linked to COVID to be resolved.

Several well-known names are ready to compete during the challenging offshore races - Genoa-Civitavecchia, Civitavecchia-Gaeta, Gaeta-Naples - which will assign the continental title. Representing Italy will be Andrea Pendibene-Giovanna Valsecchi, bearers of the Marina Militare who have been sailing together for several seasons, and Alberto Bona-Cecilia Zorzi. On the starting line there will be also Irene Bezzi paired with the Spanish Guillelmo Altadill who, with his five tour of the World (four Volvo Ocean Race and one Barcelona World Race), is undoubtedly the most popular among the entrants together with Martin Stromberg, watch captain in three Volvo Ocean Race and expected at the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour paired with Linnea Flosser representing Sweden. Attention also to the American combination of Laurent Givry and Erica Lush, a sailor who in the last six years has covered over forty thousand miles between the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean.

While the entry list of the second part of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2021 is also being completed, the one that, next September, along the route that connects Brindisi to Venice, will assign the world title of the Double Handed Mixed Offshore discipline, the Marina Militare, Sailing Series International and Difesa Servizi Spa, organizers of the event, announced interesting news also with regard to the teams ready at the starting line of the inshore regattas, reserved for Diam 24 catamarans: "With the entry of France, Oman and Norway we have reached to fourteen nations represented - comments Riccardo Simoneschi of SSInternational - a respectable number especially if we consider that we are only at the first edition, moreover organized in a historical moment that certainly does not facilitate international exchanges".

The appointment with the official opening of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2021 is set in Genoa for next week: on Thursday 26 afternoon, in fact, the opening ceremony and the press conference for the launch of this event, that deliver a new idea of tour of Italy in sailing, are scheduled.

This is the first edition of the event, which for the next three years will see the Beneteau Figaro 3 as protagonists, by virtue of an agreement that found the ideal partner in the Beneteau Group to ensure the continuity of this sporting project.
