On the evening of Saturday 12 September during the Cannes Yachting Festival, the authoritative French magazine Yachts awarded the World Yachts Trophies. They are real Oscars of the nautical sector at an international level that celebrate the success of shipyards and designers for their latest creations, in the splendor of an "Oscar night" worthy of the equally famous "Festival du Cinéma" of the famous city on the Côte d'Azur. The evening is completed by a parade of competitors at sea, illuminated by powerful beacons, a sort of "red carpet" on the water.
The awards are divided by yacht size and recognition categories.
Explorer 62, the original and innovative yacht of the "explorer" type, designed by Davide Cipriani of Centrostiledesign and built by the Explorer Loy shipyard, managed and directed by Riccardo Radice, with Günter Neumann and Ferdinand Dorn, won the "Trophée des meilleurs aménagements", award for the best layout and the best outfitting in the dimension “Yachts de 45 'à 64' (13.70 à 19.50 m)".
In Explorer 62 a skillful study of volumes and spaces re-evaluates the line of expedition yachts, often characterized by uncontrolled and bulky geometries. The might combined with the feeling of strength and safety that they can instill, are the cornerstones of this type of yacht, which leads them to be identified as the most suitable for unlimited navigation.
The design of the internal and external layout of the Explorer 62 was aimed at making the yacht as versatile as ever. The large availability of internal space and the ability to fully exploit it, have given way to create a sleeping area, which extends along the lower deck, comparable to that of a larger boat, for the number of beds available. and for the vastness of the environments.
The contrast between glossy and opaque finishes, designed in combination with dedicated lighting, helps to create suggestive plays of light of great appeal aimed at enhancing the breadth of the spaces. The refined use of white underlines the richness of the finishes used, with high quality workmanship. Every aspect of the set-up and furnishings is taken care of down to the smallest detail, so as to enhance the strong identity of the interiors. To be mentioned in this sense, the study and express design of the handles and the steering wheel, embellished with marine stones.
The great conviviality that characterizes the interiors is highlighted by the choice of placing the galley at the bow of the main deck, next to the internal helm station, which is to starboard, and adjacent to the large living room of 30 square meters. It is an undoubted element of distinction dictated by those who have a lot of experience in boats, which not only makes being in the kitchen a totally inclusive activity in life on board, even during navigation, but makes sure that the kitchen itself remains more functional on the occasion of a formal use of the dining area, but also when you opt to organize a party on board, using the entire generous surface of the main deck, seamlessly between exteriors and interiors, communicating with each other.
