The Yacht Racing Forum and Clipper Ventures are delighted to announce a long term partnership. Clipper Ventures runs the ‘Clipper Round the World Yacht Race’ and the professional solo global ‘5 OCEANS’ race; the company also provides extensive crew training for round-the-world sailors, corporate hospitality and team development sailing events and much more.
« Clipper Ventures CEO William Ward said: “We have been in business for twenty years and have just completed the tenth edition of the biennial Clipper Race. We feel it is important to demonstrate our long-term and significant commitment to the global sailing calendar as organisers of the biggest ocean race to circumnavigate the planet; the Clipper Race fields over 700 crew on twelve large one-design yachts in a series of 14 races between six continents lasting almost a year. The Yacht Racing Forum is the perfect platform to do that and I look forward to attending this year’s event with my colleagues.”
Clipper Ventures has already been involved alongside the Yacht Racing Forum on many occasions since its debut in 2008 in Monaco. The new long-term partnership with the Yacht Racing Forum is part of the company’s strategy to underpin its prominent position within the international yacht racing scene.
"Clipper Ventures’ business model is unique in the sailing world and we are delighted to welcome, and to initiate, a long lasting partnership with this organisation,” said Bernard Schopfer, the Yacht Racing Forum’s CEO. “This new support from Clipper Ventures confirms that we have been working in the right direction over the past months and that we are now able to attract entities who cover the entire spectrum of yacht racing. ”
Held on November 28 - 29 in Malta, the Yacht Racing Forum is the leading annual conference for the global yacht racing industry. The two-day event gathers the sport’s key personalities and industry experts to discuss the business of the sport and key issues such as sponsorship, television, media, sustainability, new markets, host cities, risk management & safety, design & technology and much more.
